Originally posted by KarelThanks Spike, but perhaps I wasn't clear enough: I wanted to enter my first Marketocracy fund for this contest, ticker QHF. It also has its own thread. My Mechanical Fund is nostalgic experiment, back to my first days in the US market, but now (hopefully) on a somewhat sounder footing. I use that fund (QHOF) as a thorn in Lye's backside.

OK so I got these funds entered.
Karel http://marketocracy.com/cgi-bin/WebO...FoChAfMaKiAbBj
Scifos http://www.marketocracy.com/cgi-bin/...NkKlDoMaKiAbDc
Spike http://www.marketocracy.com/cgi-bin/...LaDgDdMaKiAbDc
Webs and Lye, please post your fund public page links (assuming you're not talkin' outa yer hats) so I can grab the performance charts and insert them in the thread throughout the year.
Come on folks, get your ports together!

Well it's a 3-horse race now with Scifos throwing in! Good on ya dude. You absolutely Rock! I'm sure you'll turn it around and discover some gems that'll go up even when the market is goin' down. Karel's done it so there's proof anyone can do it! obviously I'm just kidding cuz Karel is one clever dude, and it shows by him outperforming the M100 for a LONG while. I think the MM forum has missed that little tidbit of info. Karel knows his stuff and he's showing it in POTW, and in here too. And this thread is your chance to match it with the best, so let's go dudes; it's Feb already. Start the engines and compete.
If I were a harsher more grumpy individual I'd say I'm ashamed and apalled at everyone's disinterest in this thread. Come on knuckleheads! Throw a port together - A SHORT port if you want; they've got 'em. Dudes, how hard is it to make 8 picks, put 'em in a port and let em simmer all year?! It's a piece of cake. Do it now, do it tonight, do it on the weekend.........just DO IT!
Webs. Bring you VTS or VPT or PVT or whatever the heck that silly system of yours is over here and show us how stinkin' good it is. I know you're as busy as a one-armed brick-layer in Iraq getting your new www.tradelikeaVulcan.com website together, but dude, have you got a good long-term system? With the big stops you use, this should be a walk in the park; ya got a whole year to be right! I'll even let you use my "Vector" terminology if you throw in here. hehe

Hi spike, I am not sure if I am in the lead. NAV now is 24.99, down 1.8% for the week, and up 8.4% YTD. I think we need to compare the NAV's, and for funds that existed before 1/1 we also need the NAV the fund started the year with (23.03 for QHF).

Karel, yes I agree the NAVS from 1/1 are the numbers to use, and I've been doing that (albeit guessing at the numbers on the charts I get when I specify number of days). Maybe when I took those screenshots, the Marketocracy system hadn't updated to show the latest values.
Can't recall, but I think I used NAV of 23 for yours and NAV of 10.05 for mine, and then calculated from there. I'll use 23.03 for yours in future.
Do you know where I can get my 1/1 NAV from. I didn't keep emails if it was emailed to me, and I can't find it on the system. The chart looks like it's 10.05 but it may not be accurate.
Anyway, looking at the updated graphs from Marketocracy today from 1/1:
Karel: 23.03 to 24.99 = 8.51%
Webs: 10.83-10.00= 8.3%
Spike: 10.87-10.05= 8.16%
Scifos: 10.00-9.70= -3%

Webs and Lye, if you're entering those funds, please specify those source links
eg. http://marketocracy.com/cgi-bin/WebO...FoChAfMaKiAbBj
Edit: this is the URL for the Public Page of the fund

You could also use Total value, if you want to be more exact. For my fund this doesn't change much: total value was $2,303,026.28
