I have 22 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. Mostly on the residential side, siding, windows, doors, remoldels and additions. Going to stay away from shingling, had my fill of that in 05's hail storm. Building a headache rack for my truck this week. Next week gutters and facia on a two story vick, 24ft. eve hight. back to work, wipe her down and start painting maybe yet tonight. Marlin
Also, just for kicks, and to make things a little more interesting, I'm allowing anyone else who wants to enter another pick by next Friday to enter a "what if" pick. Same general rules as before apply, except that it can be any stock at all, as long as you can prove that it traded on ANY exchange on Friday Jan 19th. I'll give you the price you show it last trading on that day. The results of this second choice, or "what if" pick will only be used in the event that a tiebreaker is needed, or verbal abuse needs one more outlet.
Oh, and one other thing, "what if" shorts will get a double score (i.e. max gain will be 200% instead of 100%) in order to encourage at least some shorting in this contest.
(see what happens when you make me the scorekeeper?)
Ok, I'm making my "what if" pick TTH.TO long.
C'mon eveyone, you've got half an hour left to make a second pick!
The deadline killed my short AZZ pick!!!! ARRRRGHH
damn, peanuts! you shoulda played that one for the POTW! well, there's still almost 50 weeks left in the year, and plenty more room for it to fall. besides you've only got a few players competing with you for the "what if" prize...
is this pick allowed? Technically, it trades on the pink sheets because its a foreign owned company. If it doesn't qualify, I'll take HMC even though its a little expensive right now and I'm hoping to buy it on sale again in January (most likely right after the deadline for entries).
