Lye, right you are. In fact it was that "late unpleasantness" that split the state of Virginia into the present Virginia and West Virginia, an act that was never ratified by the Virginia legislature. There are those who contend that since the split was "illegal" from the beginning, that the two states should in fact still be one. Most Virginians I know would be happy to just let the West Virginians keep it.

By the way, I happened to bump into a mutual acquaintance yesterday, a certain Mr. Moss.

Ahhhhh! Mr. Moss.... And A very fine Virgina Gentleman he is too. I'm very fond of him and his family..... You know his wife plays the banjo? She has a handmade custom instrument.... It was crafted by some famous VA bluegrass banjo maker.

Do I know it? Heck, I've cajoled her into pullin' that thing out of moth balls and strangin' with me on guitar before. I used to try to encourage her to play it more often, but I quit bringing the subject up 'cause I got the feeling it was starting to become bothersome.

I didn't know about the banjo being custom and handmade—at least I don't remember that. Cool.

Lyehopper, I talked really nicely to the girl at the box office, and the tickets I got us for the Brian Regan show on the 27th are not only front row center but also about 10% cheaper than the best seats I could have got (in row U) on line.

For those of you reading this who don't know who Brian Regan is, you should go see him if he comes to your town. He's one of the best comedians in the business. If it's true that laughter is the best medicine, this guy could cure just about anything you got. Anybody seen him? What did you think?
