That's because I don't think you ever PMed your zip code...or if you did, I apologize for not getting back to you.

There are four offices within 20 miles of your zip code. I haven't checked on any of them so I don't know which of them are CFPs or any of the details of their practices. Give 'em a call and ask:

1: W. MAC MILLER 14.4 mi from center of zip code

      MILLER CAPITAL MANAGEMENT
      10 S. JEFFERSON ST. SUITE 840
      ROANOKE, VA 24011
      (540)345-5200

2: ROBERT EARLS 15.0 mi from center of zip code

347 HIGHLAND AVE, SW 2ND FLR
      ROANOKE, VA 24016
      (540)400-6909

3: PAMELA FULGHUM 16.4 mi from center of zip code

      3167 STONERIDGE ROAD
      ROANOKE, VA 24014-4217
      (540)527-6067

4: J. BRANDON BELL CRPC 18.9 mi from center of zip code

      BELL WEALTH MANAGEMENT
      2774 ELECTRIC RD STE A
      ROANOKE, VA 24018
      (540)777-0035

There are others but I wanted to start with those closest to you.

        CFPs

Lye, alternatively, you could go to http://www.cfp.net/search/ or http://www.fpanet.org/PlannerSearch/search.cfm and do a search. The 2nd one returns fewer results, because it bills itself as a "referral service." Besides the many listed in Roanoke, I notice there are a half dozen listed in Lynchburg, though Bedford has none.

        • Lye, here's a CFP I know in Waynesboro:

JOSEPH ROSENBERGER CFP 57.8 mi from center of zip code

          ROSENBERGER FINANCIAL SERVICES
          17 STONERIDGE DR., STE 201
          WAYNESBORO, VA 22980-6523
          (540)932-2239

There's more in Greensboro but that's further away from where you live.

                • Maryland? Oh yes it is, it's south of the Mason-Dixon line, good buddy! Tell that to Abe Lincoln, who was in fear of his life, passing through Baltimore late at night on his train, to take up his first term as President!

Maybe so but we don't claim it.... West Virginia is below the Mason-Dixon line too.... But it ain't in the "South" either.... The Mason-Dixon Line was drawn by the English not us....

                    • W Virginia was a "carve-out" that occurred under "special circumstances" during the War, with the help of Federal troops. ( http://www.wvculture.org/hiStory/statehoo.html ) Maryland was a slave state that was not allowed by Federal troops to secede. You never heard the southern accents from those raised in Maryland?

We've got southern accents from people born and raised in Ohio but we don't call them southerners.

                        • The whole state of Ohio does not historically have a southern accent.

Right, but I'll bet more than half did at one time especially from Columbus south.

I know more about the Civil War than most.

But I said nothing about slavery or the Civil War.... I know what and where the "South" is and West VA nor Maryland is in it.... or a part of it....

I think the map I posted shows what states make up the "South" Park....

                              Get it?.... South Park. jeeeeejeeeeeeErRRRRRjeeeehic!
