    IMCL Is Hard To Predict

One day it will disappoint the heck outta ya, and on another it will pleasantly surprise ya. Today is one of those latter types of days.

I'm no market brainiac, but I'd say someone appears to be accumulating.

Where Do Intel's Revs And Earnings Go From Here?

Where do Intel's revs and earnings go from here? Dr. Jack has posted some facts and figures that got me to wondering. How will Microsoft's anticipated realease of the new Vista OS in Q1 '07 affect sales? Who stands to profit more from that event? INTC? or AMD? Any thoughts here welcome.

          Rob,

Unfortunately, as of May 23,2006, MSFT declared that Windows Vista will not support EFI (extensive Firmware Interface) booting. EFI is the modern and flexible successor to the 20-year-old PC BIOS. It is responsible for initialising hardware in the PC, and importantly, device drivers are stored in the EFI flash memory rather than being loaded by the operating system.
This is terrible news for Intel Mac users who have been hoping that they could dual-boot Windows and Mac OS Xon their new Macs... not only are their processors not 64-bit (and thus will never be supported by Windows EFI booting) but Windows Vista won't boot on EFI anyway.

But, anything can change from now until Vista's release in Jan of 2007.

Check This Out Ladies And Germs

Carl Icahn bought another $7,032,750 worth of IMCL Wednesday and Thursday this week and now controls 10.37% of outstanding shares.

            Does that tell you anything?

              Rob,
Are Carl Icahn and Kirk Kerkorian twins separated at birth ?

Thanks, Runner. I get the raw numbers from businessweek.com, stick 'em in an Excel spreadsheet and create the graphs. I prefer the visuals. It's easier to see solid and not-so-solid growth trends.

Runner, one thing I've found on businessweek.com that I wasn't able to find anywhere else is charts of options prices! That's awesome in my book!
