Eight, or maybe nine. Any earlier might be pushing it a little. (Come on now, how old were you when you started...smoking?)

I never smoked .....no tattoos , and a moderate drinker......I prefer wine now because of the antioxidant benefits.
Once remember my bro and I going to one of his fraternity parties...while most of the frat brothers were drunk out of their minds ....my brother and I after a few beers were still stone cold sober and had the pick of the ladies there . It always amazed me as to why so many of those aholes got blitzed out of their minds on booze and just left those lovely ladies for me and my bro ?
Never known to let a crisis go to waste, we took full advantage of the situation ! LOL

Amazing. And you haven't progressed at all in all these years since! Not a criticism (I don't have the right), just an observation. Sigh, men can be such Neanderthals...

I am no angel, but I have ALWAYS been a gentleman and have never disrepected any woman......what is the point? I have never hit a woman, as opposed to some "cavemen" who beat their woman on a regular basis. What I don't understand is why? .....some women will return for a second beating?
There seems to be some "mothering" ,can I help you instinct...... which I don't fully understand.

I only meant women as sex objects/property. It's amazing to me that seemingly intelligent women like me (I said I don't have the right to criticize) sometimes actually encourage behavior like this in men. Immoral, unethical, stupid! But there must be some kind of primordial urge that makes us all do otherwise inexplainable things like this sometimes.

it's the primordial urge for the orgasism that makes alot of people, both men and women, forget about common sense and drives them to do things they otherwise wouldn't do. it feels good and we all love it. but what i don't understand in a high percentage of both men and women is that they don't understand themselves and what drives them to do the things they do whether it is right or wrong. I find that women, moreso than men, usually expect more from men than they do of themselves and then when they don't get what they think they want they take it out on themselves. most men are dogs at heart and they know it.

I think most trusting and loving women think they are actually having a "relationship." If men are dogs at heart, women are completely fooling themselves and only have themselves to blame for being self-delusioned. Actually, "men are dogs at heart" should be part of every woman's sex education in high school and beyond! (and it's not)

i agree on that point river. but i dont think it would change anything knowing that fact beforehand. especially in women. most people are ruled by the heart and the ones that aren't are "dogs". but men and women will still continue to do things that they know are inherently wrong and will rationalize their reasons for doing them or they will stop doing them and that will be that. i think it is very hard to change or stop doing things that you love to do and take enjoyment out of. it is a rare and exceptional individual who has that type of self-control. like the guys in Pete's brothers frat house. they continue to drink themselves into oblivion never realizing what they are missing out on. if they knew what they were missing out on do you think they would still continue to drink themselves into oblivion? my bet is that they would and that in fact is sad.
another significant point, in my mind anyway, is that most women don't understand the power they hold and don't know that they are the ones who could be running the show but they just don't do it.

Women do hold that "Mystical" power over men and perhaps this is best illustrated by the volume "My Life and Loves " Frank Harris.......an excellent read that both River and Ski should buy and read , I don't mention Microchips because he probably has every volume in that night stand next to his bed LOL . Yes that memorable line , "A Stiff Pri** hath no conscience" shall live in infamy. Here is the Amazon Link to the volume.

I f you wish to read about FRANK here is another link .....needless to say Interesting

Hilarious Pete. ROFLMAO! But you are very sweet to suggest it. Maybe I should give it to my "Ed" who is "very close friends with" a certain sorority at his college and has already discovered all the excitement and pitfalls that can entail. (oops, unintended but subliminal pun? heh)

Ski, I couldn't agree more with you in all that you said. And you are especially right about the above statement. Problem is, most women have never had the right teacher. And I am the absoluteliest luckiest woman in the world to have had the world's best! And running the show I now do to near-perfection. Just worry a little about giving them a heart attack from sheer amazement and exhaustion! hee
But, what the heck...it's worth every second!

Frank Harris? Frank Harris? Who’s that again? But after some searching on the internet I am very much obliged for the mentioning of his name because of this brilliant little piece by Alec Waugh: The Woman Who Knew Frank Harris. It is in one of a series of blog posts on the subject of Frank Harris. It suffers a bit from having been scanned in, but it is worth the read.

                              Regards,

Wow wow double wow! Now I'm really interested! Okay Peter and Karel, I've ordered the book. Thank you to both of you. Actually sounds like it could be fascinating!

And, there's the small coincidence that a great-grandfather of my children was a Harris, in England at the time of Oscar Wilde, that one of their grandfathers was a Busby from Oxford, and their father's name is "Douglas Earl..." (he always said he was named after Alfred Lord Douglas, chancellor of the exchequer, and was related to the "black Douglases" in Scotland).
