I invented a word maybe 40 years ago. Observing and growing plants in an Ohio State University owned greenhouse and a few years later in my own I noticed that plants of the same species or combinations of plants in hanging baskets and pots tended to grow at nearly identical rates to those around them such as in a hanging line (hanging baskets) or in groups or rows on a bench. Apparently getting the same light, moisture, nutrients as those in close proximity. I call this "floraformity".

I like it - has an exotic ring to it - like when I saw my first girlfriend in grade school.Originally posted by Louetta View PostHow about automagically, where something happens and there is a logical explanation for it but it's not readily apparent. For example in my father's office they have a coffee maker on a timer. You put in the coffee and the water the night before and then at the appointed time, e.g. seven the next morning, the coffee starts to make by itself so if you come in a few minutes early and are looking at the mail or something in an otherwise empty office all of a sudden automagically coffee starts to make.

This my Word for the Day! Thanks. You should start a thread for "Word for the Day" - words that are a cross pollination of other words. There would be a few contributors including myself - you have a talent for words as we discussed earlier.

Louetta,Originally posted by Louetta View PostThere are at least two places on the form in the lines just above the end which reference one's marital status and/or request that the spouse sign.
Fascinating reading the ads. Ice boxes. Bloomers for 43 cents. Bras for a quarter.
