No, I didn't set a stop. In part because the S&P on down days doesn't usually take near the beating QQQQ, IWO, et c. do. No such luck today. We'll see what happens early in the AM. I did notice rates were sneaking up there and I noted yesterday that the lack of upside as oil declined troubled me but I was still blindsided by today.

I like playing basketball but can't stand watching it on TV...I did go to one celtics game back when Bird et al were playing...that was fun. I find most sports hard to watch (too boring) on tv except football and boxing.

I don't care for hoop either. All through my school days people asked if I played cuz I'm tall for a girl. Drove me crazy. I enjoy chicks' tennis and golf. I could watch Annika Sorenstam all day long.

This seems to be the Sports Thread...So here is a little Super Bowl story:

A man is sitting in a seat on the 50-yard line at the Super Bowl, and the seat next to him is empty. Someone nearby asks him if anyone is sitting in the seat, and the man replies that no, there is no one sitting in it.

"Wow," the questioning man says, "I can't believe someone would have a 50-yard line seat at the Super Bowl but wouldn't come!"

"Well," says the man next to the empty seat, "to be honest, the seat is mine. It was originally reserved for my wife, but, well, she died. This is the first Super Bowl that we haven't been to together in 25 years."

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Still, I'm surprised that you couldn't find another friend or relative who would want to come to the game with you."

"Yeah, no one could make it. They're all at the funeral."

Drew Faust, a person of the female persuasion, has been chosen as Harvard's new president. Unlike Speaker Pelosi she doesn't get a big plane but she gets a very nice house.

My female persuasion skills are pretty good.

Wasn't she the one who wrote Trainspotting?

              Well...she doesn't get a BIG plane...She probably doesn't have Pelosi's BIG mouth either.

She's been running the Radcliffe trust or something similar.

So far methinks Pelosi has been kind of an embarassment to us of the female persuasion. She reminds me of the opposition types in the British Parliament who harangue Blair during question time seemingly to be as shrill as possible.

Well...maybe I'm different...I could care less what "persuasion" somebody is...I prefer that the BEST person for the job is in there...I don't dislike Pelosi because she's a woman...I dislike her because I don't agree with anything she says.

I kinda like her and wouldn't kick her out of bed for eatin' crackers.

Seriously, she's got more balls than most democrats. She'd step right up and call the crooks crooks and not bat an eye. You can call that shrill but I think she's got spunk.

I think she is a pretty good looking woman. She is quite brazen when she wants to be and can back it up. Is she is well suited for the job and will she keep everyone in control and working towards positive outcomes remains to be seen. It might be a good time for some women's line of thought in governing so we should give her time to introduce her personality to the job. Most of our male politicians are caught up in their ego's and it's become hard to get anything done or for the right purposes. She has come in at at time when there are going to be serious matters to address and work thru. I'm going to be rooting for her to find answers and solutions to the problems Washington and the entire country are faced with and hopefully in an amicable way. That might be to much to ask from anyone and the next several months will be interesting.

I guess we all have different tastes...On a scale from 1 to 10 in the looks department I give her a 2.96

I only said that she was a pretty decent looking woman. I don't think that she is as gaunt as she looks in that picture and I wasn't looking at her in a sexual fashion but only as a well dressed accompolished woman. I think she rates much higher than a 2.96 numerically speaking even at her age.

Having more balls than most Democrats may not be that much of an accomplishment (e.g. Gore, Kerry). Methinks she has to be more circumspect in WHEN she speaks up. If she complains too much people will tune her out. Saying Bush was rushing troops over there so they'd be there before Congress could cut out the funding was just stupid (the White House called it "poisoness"). There's no chance Congress will cut funding in the near term. When Bush talks about the "noise" in Washington think Pelosi.

All that's true of Hilary too, I wouldst opine.

Harvard hosted the ECAC/IC4A swimming championships this past weekend. Guys won, girls finished third.
