Well, the idea is that if its supposen to get cold next week then in the next few days people will hear the weather predictions and buy now.

Fact of the matter is grad school is bunches of reading therefore one is given time to do it. Early on in grad school, unlike the college, is not a sure thing. In the college, unless you were Ted Kennedy, you could do anything short of impregnating the dean's daughter and still hang in.

Speaking of weather Saturday was truly like Spring, bunches of people out along the river. I went to the indoor track meet and they had the doors open, something I never saw in 4 years at a winter meet.

The weather here in LA today is like in the 80's...Weird...Global Warming???...But I would think the weather would have more effect on Nat Gas than Oil???

Too bad you were not around in my college days...I'm sure you wanna actually learn something...All I wanted was to get a "B" in everything and have fun...On second thought...It is probably better for you that you were not around in my college days But it all worked out for me in the end...Wait!!!...I'm only 53...I'm nowhere near the end...LOL

No I wouldn't. By the by have you ever seen the episode of Star Trek where Spock has a form of digital intercourse with a woman? Each raises a hand such as in your picture and they, well, finger each other.

Supply and Demand...I think I read about that in some book...This is a big game...There is plenty of supply to see your Great Grand Kids thru...However, it is the control of the release of that supply.

Theoretically if there is an over supply then prices go down...So, as oil prices have plummeted why am I paying more to fill up my car???...In this case it seems that an over supply has caused prices to rise...Oh My!!!

That is one of the problems with using economics to try to determine price moves. It that little clause of "all other item(s) remain constant." Those other items changes all the time. Theoretically we could have an over supply of oil, but the refiners could have slow down, the distributors could be stock piling, and so on, and so on. IMO for over supply to drop prices, it has to be over supplied by the oil countries, the oil companies, the refiners, distributors, and your local gas station. The rest of the time its just price manipulation.

Well the price of gas won't plummet simply because a gas station that just paid 1.95 for each gallon of gas in their tanks are going to be all fired up about selling it for 1.85, making it up on volume





There are other factors, aside from market (read supply/demand) forces.

for example, the additional carrier battle group moving into the region.

Iran has long claimed that it would close the straits of hormuz. OTOH, they've been itching for an old fashioned a$$ whooping since the beruit Marine barracks attack.

Me thinks there is going to be additional puckerage in the region, before things calm down again.

Bush clearly stated as such in his speech. Which is a good thing, those clowns need to quake in their sandals just thinking about bothering us, to ensure peace.
