I said nothing about making people do things, they do them because they want to, possibly because of my toothy grin. And I said nothing about them not knowing what they were doing. Well I hope everyone enjoyed the PBS Shakespeare broadcast. Last night they had a very nice program on winter in Yellowstone. They showed buffalo making their way down from the uplands by walking on the highway. Much easier than walking across the snow and there was no danger because there's no traffic in winter. They also had some really cute red foxes with thees really bushy tails. I have a fox in my stuffed animal collection (did I mention I have a really fine collection of stuffed animals?) But my fox' tail isn't nearly as bushy as these foxes.

Separately, in the music department, I have switched from Enya's Gaelic version of Silent Night to Celine Dion singing O, Holy Night in English and the Ave Maria in both Frog and English.

Speaking of Yellowstone...I touched my only wild bear there in '69...Top that...I think her name was Helen???

Regrettably we're still at it. We're one of the few schools that has finals after Christmas. We have a reading period from 1/2 to 1/12, this Friday, finals from the 13-23 which is a Tuesday then we start the second term 1/31 on a Wednesday. Spring term is better, we're done May 25. I saw your prediction for the first quarter. If I read it right it was quite bearish. My options on HSOA will mercifully expire in 10 days. I'm tired of watching that one. I picked up some March calls on VLO today. Its supposed to get cold starting next week so mayhap oil will head up thus VLO.

Well, the idea is that if its supposen to get cold next week then in the next few days people will hear the weather predictions and buy now.

Fact of the matter is grad school is bunches of reading therefore one is given time to do it. Early on in grad school, unlike the college, is not a sure thing. In the college, unless you were Ted Kennedy, you could do anything short of impregnating the dean's daughter and still hang in.

Speaking of weather Saturday was truly like Spring, bunches of people out along the river. I went to the indoor track meet and they had the doors open, something I never saw in 4 years at a winter meet.
