Besides being the construction manager I own the company so I've created a safe and comfortable situation for myself. Believe me my occassional smoke and drink are nowhere near where it may sound. I am in full control of my facilities and my surrounding environment. Gato is in my top five favorite musicians. I'm glad that you're familiar with him and his music. I've always been drawn to his style of Latino jazz.

Well, that's a different story certainly.

In case you're wondering, giving up drinking isn't as hard as one thinks. Here's what you do: Drink 3 or 4 beers before dinner, then eat a bunch of beets with dinner along with a few glasses of wine, followed by some brandy for dessert. The next day your shit will be red and you'll be hung over and worried to death about stomach cancer and/or liver disease. YOu won't miss drinking after that...I'm speaking from experience and I have zero desire to drink any more...I was amazed at how easy it was to quit.

Kinda off topic musically, but I heard a Philip Glass violin concerto the other day that absolutely blew me away, and it takes alot to impress me musically. By some violinist named McDuffy, I believe with the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra.
Well I'm not looking to drink anymore or less than I am right now at this stage of the game. Are you saying that you don't drink at all anymore. I'm doing everything that I ever did but in moderation. I guess that when they're carrying me out in a box that will be the signal that I've stopped.

I think it has to do with the apres ski stuff more than the skiing.
Nothing beats getting away for a long weekend of skiing. Skiing all day and doing the apres ski stuff all night for two or three days. It's the drive home that hurts.

I wouldn't figure I'd have to drive. I will be driving to Hanover (Dartmouth) on or about Jan. 4-5. Might be a chance to get in some skiing that weekend and I can flop at the college.

We should hook up in Vermont some weekend. Maybe Stratton or Killington. That wouldn't be to far a drive for you would it? It's about a 6.5 hr. drive from where I live in New Jersey. We could get a group together some weekend after the first of the year.

How far would that be for you to drive from where you live Lou? I drive 3.5/4 hrs. almost every Wed. or Thurs. to either Windham or Hunter, NY for a day trip. We usually leave at 4:30 am an are there by 8:30 am. Ski all day from 9 am to 4 pm and have something to eat and a few drinks and leave by 6 pm and are home by 10 pm. Long day but worth it if you're into skiing.

Doug what did Lou mean by suicide 6? Is that when she falls asleep at the wheel. On my day trips I usually do all the driving. It can get hair raising especially once you get into the mountains and on alot of the days we go it is snowing pretty hard up there. It definitely helps if you have some type of a 4 wheel drive vehicle.
