I'm in my construction trailer office near the end of a rather hectic day. It's set up quite comfortably with all the amenities. I'm having a couple of fingers of Granmarnier over an ice cube while listening to Gato Barbieri's Caliente! CD which is one of my all time favorites, especially the Europa cut. I just had a couple of puffs and am laying back watching the realtime screen of my current stock watchlists. I believe that my wife and I have that Enya CD. I enjoy her and alot of the Celtic and Gaelic music. Especially the Celtic chants. But the choices depend alot on the mood. I'm not in my jammies but are you?

I'm as responsible and as in control and on top of my situation as anyone could be under any circumstances. I learned along time ago to appreciate my parameters and I very seldom stray outside of them. It's the end of the day and I'm just finishing up my paperwork while checking out the stock markets. Besides being the construction manager I own the company so I've created a safe and comfortable situation for myself. Believe me my occassional smoke and drink are nowhere near where it may sound. I am in full control of my facilities and my surrounding environment. Gato is in my top five favorite musicians. I'm glad that you're familiar with him and his music. I've always been drawn to his style of Latino jazz.

          Ernie,
When I'm not posting I'm usually lurking. Your site is always up and on one of my computers during the day at the trailer and at night in my home office. You know that we are relatively close distance wise with me being in Toms River and you in Princeton. My wife and I were there on Sunday at a mall on Rte. 1 just south of the Hightstown/Princeton Road and Rte. 1 intersection. My wife, who is a professional shopper and will travel 50 miles to save a buck, is in the Princeton area with her sister at least once a week at Wegmans and other stores depending on the sales going on. You should come down to the shore and let me take you to lunch and a few drinks.

I'm much better at skiing than drinking although drinking done in moderation will let you last much longer. The key with everything is to take your time, do it moderately, and to last longer in the process. Skiing is the same way. I'm always in better condition at the end of the season if I start off slower and more sensibly in the beginning of the season and build up to peak condition and being in great shape by the end of the season. From your picture and your natural athleticism regarding swimming I would think you would be able to master skiing if you tried. Nothing beats letting gravity and a slick surface do all the work for you.

Thank you for the kind offer. I never lifted weights even when I was swimming competitively 'cuz I don't like the way it makes you look. I mean look at Ernie, he looks a lot like my teddy bears. Skiing I could definitely use the help in. Never did too much of that because ski season conflicted with swim season. That drinking smiley you have is precious. I'm not sure its a matter of learning to drink. I mean what's to learn, you kind of just do it. I just don't do it much. Kind of like sex.

I think you kind of improve your skiing by skiing, something I never did much of. Partly was the conflict with swimming season and we had kind of a moral responsibility not to do anything we might get hurt at and lose the season. My brothers ski but they go with girls now. I think it has to do with the apres ski stuff more than the skiing.

Since I think this forum is Rated PG-13 I will refrain from posting the hilarious answer that popped into my mind

Well, that's a different story certainly.

In case you're wondering, giving up drinking isn't as hard as one thinks. Here's what you do: Drink 3 or 4 beers before dinner, then eat a bunch of beets with dinner along with a few glasses of wine, followed by some brandy for dessert. The next day your shit will be red and you'll be hung over and worried to death about stomach cancer and/or liver disease. YOu won't miss drinking after that...I'm speaking from experience and I have zero desire to drink any more...I was amazed at how easy it was to quit.

Kinda off topic musically, but I heard a Philip Glass violin concerto the other day that absolutely blew me away, and it takes alot to impress me musically. By some violinist named McDuffy, I believe with the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra.
