I just can't help myself... I've got to brag and pat myself on the back, since nobody else will do it for me. I do not lie when I post that I buy or sell certain securities. Here's a screen shot from Ameritrade as some proof:

Hoku may continue to run, but with a 20+% profit, I'll cash out any day.

Happy early birthday present for me!!! I'm going to hit the links at 12:30. Have a great day!

Impressive list of stocks and everyone of them up. Great play on HOKU. Don't understand the exit though. Could have taken half off and brought up a close stop to maybe take advantage of further gains but can't argue with a winning position like this play. Good work. Only thing that bothers me, an this is only my opinion, why do people need and crave recognition and affirmation. Isn't the money enough? Happy birthday. Perfect day to hit a winner like HOKU.

That's exactly what I was thinking. And I used to say it. That's what got me my reputation, at least in part. I no longer bother.

This forum was created by a fella that desires all here to recognize that he is "HUGE" whenever he hits a winning stock.... He then requests that we "bring him our finest meats and cheeses" and sing his praises....

I direct this question to Louetta and Skiracer (or anyone else for that matter)....
Does $$$Mr Market$$$'s craving to be recognized as "HUGE" bother you? Just curious....

And I direct this question to Louetta.... Why haven't you accepted my warm invitation to play the POTW yet?

One does not "join" the VTP like some country club.... A Trader who becomes a VTP inner circle member has no choice in the matter, it just "happens"....

btw.... Websman is the supreme head and founder of the VTP. Cramer only wishes the he could qualify for a seat. Keep up the good work Peanuts, the inner circle is watching you closely.

To be perfectly honest it has always bothered me to some degree. Alot more in the past when Ernie an I were on different sides of the fence about how he goes about counting up his winners in a row and his posturing. But having gotten to know Ernie and having been posting on this site for as long as I have the need to argue or defend my opinion about his personality or reasoning behind his posturing has disappeared when I compare what he has created and given to all of us against any degree of boasting or posturing on his part.
I still feel that bragging, boasting, or the need for recognition or affirmation of ones abilities or triumphs questionable in my own opinion. Especially the continous need for affirmation of one's abilities. My post wasn't meant to single out Peanuts. I was actually giving him what he was looking for by commenting on how well that list of stocks was performing. It would be hard to deny that. I just don't like the other part. Just a simple observation of a direct quote on Peanuts part. The truth and substance of the matter is in how well the list and the trades are doing. That and the money are the only things that count. Next week that list or any list or position could very well be 180 degrees on the other side of the spectrum. Would anyone be seeking the same recognition when things are going that way?

IMO...people don't need to brag...Others will notice if you are good or not...Nobody's perfect though...And yes, probably most like recognition for a job well done...But that should not be the primary reason you post trades.

Let me tell you something Peanuts...It is not proper etiquette to post the actual dollar amounts you invest. Sure, you can tell your close buddies...But on Forums and Chats there are people from all different socio-economic backgrounds...There are also some w/ a lot of money who only trade w/ a small amount of their net worth.

                        At Forums/Chats it is a % game...not a dollar amount game.

From my vast experience in Forums (Since '97) from people I have actually gotten to know...There are portfolios as low as $500 up to $5,000,000. From the people I know I'd say most are in the $10,000-$300,000 range w/ the majority under $100,000...We talk percentages...Not dollar amounts.

With commissions so low it really doesn't matter...although on an account less than $5,000 it probably does matter a bit...

Anyway...If you read my posts you probabaly think I'm somewhat of a braggart...But I post my losses too...However, many of my posts win/lose are posted in what I think is a humorous manner...I know some don't think I'm all that funny...But I think I am...You see...Win/Lose/Draw I think investing/trading is Fun...I'm in it for the $$$ of course but I think it is all fun...I try to portray that...Ticks some off I know...But others know where I'm coming from.

To make a loooong story short Peanuts...Nobody wants to see your Ameritrade statements IMO...Best, Doug(IIC)

Seriously Doug.... Now we must concern ourselves with "proper etiquette" when posting on this forum?

Peanuts did not post his account balance for us to see.... He just posted the trade on HOKU showing that he hit a 30% gainer over night (and I would say most members here could have easily afforded to make that trade). I have no problem with his post and actually I was impressed with the play. Because of his posting the shot from Ameritrade I know he actually did what he claims.... and I respect his doing so.

Doug-E-Fresh.... Maybe you are just envious that your trades have not caught the attention of the inner circle?

It is my personality. I grew up in a large family, and I was the only boy. I have always craved attention. It is a personaility issue that I am aware of, but also something that I just can't stop. I can't do it, I NEED that attention. If I have to shove my trades down people's throats to get that attention, I will. The simple fact that I know that I did well on a trade just isn't enough. I guess I need that little pat on the head and "good boy" from someone else.

There is also an issue of validity. Anyone can say, "bought 1 block of XYZ at $10" and then later say, "sold 1 block at $11" But, how is anyone supposed to blindly believe this person? To post the screen shot proves the trade, and should also confirm that the person behind the words is not some kind of scam artist or or just someone that says something just to say it. It's not like I included my account balance and such... just the trade that I posted.

What I post is what I actually do in life (with the exception of POTW). There are stocks in my portfolio, which are posted here, that are down 20+% from my entry. If someone were to point that out, I would certainly entertain their comments.

I really appreciate the congrats and such from everyone. It really means something to me.
