    Peanuts,
Their price is wrong and you are an idiot. I see why your family wanted you out of their business. Take me out of the game and shove it and this site up your ****ing ass you slimely little eel. I told you once that if you ****ed around with me and got me mad I would be showing up at your door. You're not far from that.

        Ski,

It's your lucky day! I checked the historical prices from Yahoo! and those boneheads screwed up the ICOP opening price, yesterday. It is now listed as $6.46. Can you believe they would do that to me!?!?! I mean, I've got people's delicate emotions on the line here... they need to make sure they have the right prices or else poor little powerless peanuts might get snuffed out...

It's not my lucky day and nothing has changed with my feelings or what I said. Take your little contest and empire and shove it. You're a trite little spore that makes me sick to my stomach with too many things in your personality to list. And you have no idea of who I am or what I am about. You had your say and fun now live with whatever way the cards fall. Take me out of the contest. I'm outa here.

Ski, don't sugar-coat it, dude, say what you really think.

But seriously, cut the P-man a little slack. He's got a tough (and thankless) job, and he's doing it pretty well.

Peanuts, as I had forewarned you, you cannot always trust the opening prices as reported by Yahoo until they go into the historical prices. For a long time businessweek.com was far superior, but those dudes over there are messing with their system, doing who-knows-what, and now it's tough getting a good opening price from them too. Over the past couple weeks I've found http://www.nyse.com to have accurate opening prices.

Hi Peanuts, stockcharts also has the opening price of CROX as 55.85, not 55.86. Not a biggie, but hope you might check. Thanks.

                  done.

Thank you very much for posting the proof!

Yahoo! Finance sucks, but it offers the best solution for me right now; so if anyone else sees a difference in price, let me know by the end of the week.

                    Opening Prices

Here's an example of what I've been talking about.

Today's opening prices for GOOG, as reported by:

                    Businessweek ... $474.00
                    Yahoo .......... $467.30
                    NYSE ........... $468.47
                    Stockcharts .... $469.84

Four different opening prices, and these are the only four sites I checked just now.

Which one will go into the historical quotes on both Yahoo and Businessweek after today? I'm betting it will be $468.47, the NYSE quote.

                        • 1. It's just a game.
                          2. Peanuts is a volunteer.
                          3. Opening price differences between sources are pretty minor.

While there is certainly nothing wrong with alerting the scorekeeper to possible bad data, heaping abuse is quite rude and in poor form, IMHO.

What has happened to civility in this world, anyway?
