            Congrats Ray!

When I read that the baby boy weighed 20 pounds I hollered to Mrs Lye in the other room and said "HONEY! HAVE YOU EVER HEARD TELL OF A WOMAN HAVING A TWENTY POUND BABY?" she said "NOOOOOOOO".... "WHO HAD A TWENTY POUND BABY?".... Then I scrolled to this post, read it and yelled back "NEVER MIND"....LOL!
            BEEF!... it's whats for dinner!

              Week 12, Day 2

              Week 12 - Mr. Market's Chemistry Class
              Day 2 - Energy!

Stenzrob measured just the right amount of (unidentified) liquid and proves that a you can shrink yourself with the right crystals:

Spikefader learned that fire cannot be contained easily in a beaker, a lesson worth 2nd place:

Peanuts shows that there is more energy in a single peanut than in a marshmallow. This was proven by burning each, and timing how long it takes for fire to consume them (go ahead I know you'll try it):

Here we are, all students of Mr. Market's Chemistry Class, wondering what fate will capture each one of us this week. In this class, we will do 5 experiments- one each day, and the winner this week will be determined based on their contribution to the greater good of society. Understanding the chemistry of the market, is understanding the elements which join us all in some type of camaraderie beyond more simple human relationships.

Dr. Scifos demonstrated limited heat transfer through a rare new semi-solid:

Jiesen claims to be able to change Pepsi into Coca Cola:

Riverbabe wouldn't tell us exactly what this contraption was good for, but it didn't matter, because we all soon forgot what we were doing in the first place, and everyone was happy and relaxed:

aw shoot, I'm really sorry about that Peter. I missed it the first time, but I see that you posted the pick last Friday at 4:24 (you must be in Central Time Zone). It seems that there is a problem also with the entry price of Stenzrob's pick. I'll add your pick to the mix and post an updated scorecard shortly. Once again, sorry, dude!

                        updated scorecard

Hey everyone, I'm not the best scorekeeper in the world. I made some errors this week. If you notice any more of my mistakes, please let me know. Stenzrob, you had the spotlight for just a little bit. Better than nothing, I guess. It seems that it wasn't really you that was shrunken- it was just a doll. How could you?!?!? Spike has first place now, with Peter and his fist full of pills right behind him.

At least you didn't find out I was short on that pick.
Guess I'll have to find another one to get back where I was.

Congratulations, Ray! That's wonderful news. I'm glad to hear the boy's only 8 lbs, too. I was a little worried at first when I saw the 20 lbs...

Hearing that your daughter's story has turned out so well, after all she's been through, really made my day. Thanks for sharing it with us all!
