Couldn't it be in vBulletin's server's and the load on them at different times of the day. I have noticed it is running slower across the board. At times different operations take longer than others is another item that I've noticed. I don't see where anything has changed on my side as the several other sites I have up and running are all operating at their usual Comcast Broadband speeds.THE SKIRACER'S EDGE: MAKE THE EDGE IN YOUR FAVOR

Thanks for the feedback so far. Two points: vBulletin is just the software we use (on our own server), and we have really, really long threads. 13 have over 1000 posts; the POTW thread had over 10,000 posts. It may not even be a question of vBulletin being optimised enough (I fear other software would have broken down already), but of mySQL being optimised enough for this kind of job.
And our server is not a dedicated job, it is some virtual server space, as far as I know.
Please also mention it when the split did help (somewhat).

Karel, great work! I have noticed a difference in load speed.
One problem, however... when you closed the old thread, you also closed the ability to edit posts. The contest description, rules, player's current positions, and the yearly results are frozen... I am unable, for example, to edit the "current player holdings" post to reflect Riverbabe's trade into DE.
Could you possibly grab those posts and move them to this thread? Otherwise, I've got my work cut out for me...
Thanks for all the hard work you do, I hope it doesn't distract you from the funHide not your talents.
