Peanuts, great job with the contest, dude! More to it than meets the eye, huh?
Anywho, just to let you know, I'm coming up with the same opening prices as you did on all except these two:
CVTX 13.07
PCCC 18.39
Of course everyone must live with the august ruling of the scorekeeper, but you might want to review those.—Rob

If you do decide to let me in, I'll take IMOS long yet again.
It's your call, I will cheerfully abide by the decision of the court.

You will be permitted to play the contest this week, but you will start with a 3% penalty, and that will be your first closed position for the week. You will have the opportunity to make 1 play this week. You can begin with CA$H and wait for your play, but once you make your play, you can only close the one play and remain in CA$H for the rest of the week.
You have already indicated that you will take IMOS long. You may only close that position this week and stay in CA$H. I hope, for your sake, that you can at least regain the penalty loss. It is already too late to withdraw your pick for the week.
Now, next time this happens, just tell me CA$H as soon as you can...Hide not your talents.

Week 7, Day 2
Week 7 - Surfing competition
Day 2 - sharks in the water!!!!
Check yourself for cuts!!! It's getting messy out there. These sharks know just where you are when they catch a scent of your blood. They also know which one of us is weak, and who is strong.
Speaking of strong, look at Lyehopper shred that wave!!!! He's got the red shirt on to match River's shorts. However, she just took those off!!!
While we're talking about River, she decided on a wardrobe change, and to keep away from big giant man eating swimming fish. So she caught some rays and let her score ride out today, but she remains in second place.
Were you ever trading some stocks on the internet when this happened to you:
That would be Gatorman, who is certainly not afraid of the sharks, coming to rip your heart from your body... er, I mean, give you a kiss. Whatever that means, I don't care to explain, but Happy Valentines Day! (psst... nice stock, dude!)
Everyone else was hanging out with the crowd of on-lookers... can you blame them?

Hello all,
Because a lot of you seem to suffer from slow loading, especially on the POTW thread, I decided to split it. You will find the link to the original thread in the first post of this new one. I would have preferred to split all 2007 posts off, but I have not found an easy way to just cut a thread in two; I have to select each and every post to split it off. So I started the split somewhere in the complaints about the loading speed.
I hope this helps. When this thread becomes slow too, just holler.

EDIT: Further research reveals that the length of the thread DOES indeed slow sown the load rate. As I scrolled down and timed each thread I discovered that the shorter ones load in under five seconds for me (some in one second).... Webs, Louetta, IIC and Ski's threads all loaded in about eighteen to twenty seconds. But after I had opened them (the longer threads) once.... they loaded the second time in under three seconds.
Conclusion: Longer threads are indeed slower to load. You'd think the forum software would have a way around that problem. Maybe an upgrade to a newer version is in order?Last edited by Lyehopper; 02-14-2007, 09:38 AM.BEEF!... it's whats for dinner!
