I thought Rev's call on BW was a real good lead as it was a fundamentally strong company in a nice chart pattern. I didn't feel the same about the other one at all and holding thru earnings waiting for the report is gambling and alot of luck involved. The BW play was there for the taking and not really a matter of luck as much as recognizing the setup and opportunity in both the stock and the option. The May 55 call was under 1.00 when I first mentioned the May 50 call. Now that May 55 call is close to 5. I mentioned them both several times here and no one mentioned the play or showed any interest.

    Yeah...now I remember...Geez...That's the 4th time I forgot something this year.

That play wasn't mine and I never took credit for it but my God it was as ripe as Riverbabe's avatar and there for the picking. I don't think anyone really looks into the stocks that others bring to the forum with any real interest in playing them even if they present a real decent setup and BW as solid as them come right from the moment River posted on it.

IGLD - The Shark's Stock of the Week, April 16, 2007

This week the Rev Shark's selected stock of the week is Internet Gold (IGLD), which is the second largest internet access provider in Israel and a leading provider of international telephone services.

According to the Rev, "in its most recent quarter the company saw earnings per share grown to 20 cents from 6 cents last year while revenues jumped 58%. The company is expected to boost earnings 131% to $1.04 in 2007 which makes the stock a compelling value given its trailing PE of just 26."

On Friday, the stock moved over its 50 day moving average on above average volume and is showing signs of moving back to where it was before the Nasdaq suffered a nasty hit about a month ago. Just prior to the sharp dip Dutton Associates had upgraded the stock to a strong buy with a price target of $20.

Thanks much River; I didn't trade FCSX myself, but peanuts did and took 3% in about 30 minutes.

Yeah, the 'newest post first' thing is somethin' I need t' change th' coding for, I'd like that default option too. I'll try do that tonight.

Glad ye be fuzzy-aware now!! It be an arrow in th' quiver.

              IGLD - Day 1

Yesterday (Monday), IGLD gapped up and then traded up further with the broader market. Volume was excellent and, according to the Rev, the action bodes well for further upside. The Rev says that he will continue to hold shares but may peal some of into strength, also suggesting that we should tighten up our stops "just in case." Hmmm... Riverbabe

Spike, would you be willing to do a fuzzy count on this one? Is this in a 1 up?

                IGLD - Day 2

                The Shark's opinion:

"IGLD, our Stock of the Week, pulled back 21 cents on lighter volume as technology stocks as a group consolidated recent gains. The stock continues to look fine technically and we continue to hold a portion of our position. We will be patient and give it some time to regroup and make another upside attempt."

                  IGLD - Day 3

According to the Rev Shark, IGLD held steady on light volume. He says that the "basing" action looks healthy, he will continue to hold on to some of his shares and would consider adding on a big volume move over 14.

WFR - Stock of the week April 23rd

Well folks, here is one we've all looked at one time or another!

The Rev Shark's pick for this week is (drum roll) MEMC Electronic Material (WFR). The stock has moved up 25% since March 5th and has been trading in a range of about 60 to 63 over the last three weeks or so. With earnings scheduled to be released this coming Thursday night he believes the stock is poised for another upleg.

He thinks the analysts estimates for the quarter are conservative, and that
the stock is likely to trade up in anticipation of a very strong earnings report on Thursday night. He is NOT suggesting that anyone hold the stock through earnings, especially if it moves strongly before hand. However he does feel the chances of a good report are quite high and that it may be worth taking a very small gamble with highly speculative funds.

His plan is to add shares around 62 if possible, or higher if there is a volume increase, and set initial stop about 60

SNYL - Rev Shark's Stock of the week - May 17th

The Rev picks Synalloy Corporation (SYNL). Up to February of this year SYNL was a rather sleepy stock trading on thin volume. That has changed recently as the company has posted exception earnings growth and found itself on the radar of momentum investors.

The big kicker in this stock is a fire retardant product for bedding called Sleep-Safe. New Federal rules require all mattresses manufactured after July 1 to meet new fire retardant standards which this product does. Sales from this product are suppose to kick in this quarter and that is why there is so much interest in the stock.

Technically it is setting up well with a high level base. However this is a very volatile stock and is quickly jerked around. In a weak market it is likely to struggle. Nonetheless the technical setup is good and we would consider a buy around the point where it makes a new closing high which is $41.20.

Stock of the Week, May 21

The Rev Shark's Stock of the Week is DXP Enterprises, (DXPE). DXPE provides a wide variety of maintenance, repair, operating and production supplies such as pumps and hoses for the oil, gas, chemical and mining industries.

In its most recent quarter the company posted earnings of 65 cents versus 44 cents last year and saw revenues grow 34%. The stock is selling with a trailing PE of 21 but is expecting earnings growth of 38% this year and a further 26% in 2008 which makes it an attractive value.

Technically the stock has been basing for about three weeks following excellent earnings on April 25. The stock looks like it is attempting to turn up here and he expects it would gain some momentum should it make some higher highs.

He suggests taking a position around current levels and be a more aggressive buyer on a volume increase and a close over 49.
