This is very good for the POTW. As an international contest we here feel that we have transcended defined boundaries and have evolved into that contest that everyone wants to win at least once in their lives. Those fortunate enough to have won more than one time are among that elite group that know the agony of defeat and the ecstacy of winning. A great race to the finish provides us all with that adrenaline rush associated with the race to the finish. Karel, Webs, anything up either of your sleeves for the last 1 1/2 hrs. Curious minds would like to know.Last edited by skiracer; 01-25-2008, 07:36 PM.THE SKIRACER'S EDGE: MAKE THE EDGE IN YOUR FAVOR

And I'm afraid I just lost, but I don't have the exact numbers.

The final day this week begins with ROCM charging out of the gate at the open from the previous days finish in the 3rd spot to challenge QMAR, our current leader, for the top spot. Lurking on the inside rail was Jiesen "the steady" on board LJPC just hoping to see some daylight where he could squeeze thru and put on his own challenge for the lead. As the afternnoon and the action progressed LJPC began to slip and was just not enough stock today to match what was going on in front of him. Jiesen and LJPC gave it all they had but came up short finishing the day in the 3rd position. QMAR with the renowned Scandanavian long hold trader "Karel" on board would not give in to the relentless pursuit of the challenger from Florida, Websman, on board ROCM. Websman, commonly known as the leader of a cult group of traders pledging allegiance to their Vulcan counterparts somewhere way out of our planetary jurisdictions, is more of the discipline of the "instant gratification school of trading" and was also known for more than a few major "premature exitations" from positions that went on much farther into space without him. But Websman is good and is coming off a lengthy layoff and is fresh as the winter air. ROCM was gapping up in leaps and bounds and as the final minutes ticked away QMAR sticks his nose out in front to go up by the slimmest of margins. In the final gasps of the day and the bell it's QMAR, no it's ROCM, no it's QMAR by .65 of a point at the close. QMAR takes the top spot, with ROCM taking the 2nd spot followed by LJPC in 3rd. And this week is in the can ladies and gentlemen. 9 in the green and 10 in the red to finish the 4th week of play this year. It's a wrap and the windows are open for the coming week for those of you who need the action and want to get those picks in early. All players scores who have had a penalty or two or more trades this week will reflect the adjusted score after the penalty or the percentage differences have been calculated and/or deducted. Looking forward to seeing everyone back again for next week and bring your friends and associates. Were international you know. And the scorecard please:

Everybody likes to win, but I wonder if ski didn't make two errors instead of one. The Netherlands =/= Scandinavia (= Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, and possibly Finland and Iceland). If you want to look across our borders for historically and culturally connected territory, you get the Low Countries.
That was one error; the second may be 13.86 as the closing price for ROCM, as Webs exited on 3:09 PM. If I am correct, it makes it even more of a photo finish, but now with a different nose out in front, I fear.

I did make an error with Webs score at the time he exited the play but your time of exit is also wrong. His post was at 2:09 p.m. not 3:09 p.m. His actual percentage might be a bit lower, because ROCM was trading lower than 13.86 at that time intraday, not enough to jeopardize his 2nd place finish but lower than the 13.86 I gave him as his close which was an error. I overlooked the fact that he exited earlier and I gave him the closing bell price. I do believe that you are still the winner! Anyone else or Webs have proof of otherwise please come forward. I am going to make the adjustment in his percentage because it might make a difference in the overall percentages for the year. Thanks anyway for maitaining your integrity and honesty and willingness to forfeit the win for your moral values, even if you like to "kick them when they are down" which I find impressive.
Just went back to my 1 min. charts and could get back to 2:09 exactly but ROCM would have had to closed above 13.93 to have beaten you. At 13.93 it would have been an exact tie at 29.22% for each of you, but I beleive that the exit was lower than 13.93 and was more around 13.86 range. Anyone that has the exact exit price please come forward with it.Last edited by skiracer; 01-26-2008, 10:45 AM.THE SKIRACER'S EDGE: MAKE THE EDGE IN YOUR FAVOR
