      I calculate them as
      Code:
      Webs 29,22078%
      Karel 29,21975%
      ---------------
      diff 0,00103%
That is 1/10th of a percent of a percent difference. In a 100-meter race between 10sec runners, that would amount to a lead of about (1% diff => 1 meter; 1% of that => 1 centimeter; 1/10th of that =>) 1 millimeter! The time would have to be measured in 4 decimals, way beyond the precision of the measurement.

BTW, the difference here looks more like an artifact of the calculation than a performance difference, but there is a difference and it is in favor of Webs.

Skiracer, I know how tough it can be to keep up sometimes ... believe me ... but I do think you missed my final play of the week.

I appreciate everyone's help I trust both Spike and Karel without any doubt. I'm going to go with my own calculations and Spike's and stand on the decision and standings as stated on the scorecard. Another

          Congratulations Karel!

You have beaten the Vulcan Trader. You, sir, have earned the respect of the Inner Circle....Yesterday 08:24 PM

significant point is that Webs, who I know has his final percentage for the week figured exactly where he knows who won, would not relinquish his claim on the top spot if he thought otherwise as would any of us. Web's acknowledgement of Karel as the winner is proof in itself that he feels Karel won fair and square.
As stated in the scorecard the decision stands with Karel in 1st place and Webs in 2nd place in what has turned out to be, I believe, the closest finish in the magnificent history of the POTW. Thank you everyone for your participation and we are open for selections for this coming weeks game.
I am going to be installing the option of using a 7% stop if you wish with your picks this week. It will remain optional for the time being but must be stated along with the pick and either long or short. If not stated then it will be assumed you don't want it and that will be it.
Congrats to Karel, Webs, and Jiesen for their top finishes this week in a rough market.

Well, it appears I have no alternative than to accept the congratulations. The ref is boss. So, thank you, and thank you all the others who already congratulated me!

I am still long QMAR, btw. It might have some more correction to do, but anyway, it isn't in the queue for my portfolio replacement yet.

I did miss it Rob. I'll make the adjustment. Boy some week last week. Just in to much of a rush and spreading myself around to thinly.

The final day this week begins with ROCM charging out of the gate at the open from the previous days finish in the 3rd spot to challenge QMAR, our current leader, for the top spot. Lurking on the inside rail was Jiesen "the steady" on board LJPC just hoping to see some daylight where he could squeeze thru and put on his own challenge for the lead. As the afternnoon and the action progressed LJPC began to slip and was just not enough stock today to match what was going on in front of him. Jiesen and LJPC gave it all they had but came up short finishing the day in the 3rd position. QMAR with the renowned Scandanavian long hold trader "Karel" on board would not give in to the relentless pursuit of the challenger from Florida, Websman, on board ROCM. Websman, commonly known as the leader of a cult group of traders pledging allegiance to their Vulcan counterparts somewhere way out of our planetary jurisdictions, is more of the discipline of the "instant gratification school of trading" and was also known for more than a few major "premature exitations" from positions that went on much farther into space without him. But Websman is good and is coming off a lengthy layoff and is fresh as the winter air. ROCM was gapping up in leaps and bounds and as the final minutes ticked away QMAR sticks his nose out in front to go up by the slimmest of margins. In the final gasps of the day and the bell it's QMAR, no it's ROCM, no it's QMAR by .65 of a point at the close. QMAR takes the top spot, with ROCM taking the 2nd spot followed by LJPC in 3rd. And this week is in the can ladies and gentlemen. 9 in the green and 10 in the red to finish the 4th week of play this year. It's a wrap and the windows are open for the coming week for those of you who need the action and want to get those picks in early. All players scores who have had a penalty or two or more trades this week will reflect the adjusted score after the penalty or the percentage differences have been calculated and/or deducted. Looking forward to seeing everyone back again for next week and bring your friends and associates. Were international you know. And the scorecard please: The newly revised scorecard with the adjustment for the trade of Rob's that I missed. It didn't change anything standings wise but would reflect a small difference in the yearly final score. Sorry on missing it Rob.

Here are the weekly scores and the totals for each player after the first 4 weeks of play. I'll be able to do this each week now that I have it on the sheet. Alot of red this month and yours truly is leading the pack. Jiesen, the steady one, is #1 with His Eminence Websman, the Vulcan #2 and Pretty in Pink, actually River looks good in anything or even nothing I bet, is # 3. Billyjoe at # 4 is always nipping at Riverbabe's heels it seems and NewBorn is # 5 his prayers being answered. That's it on the greenies. The rest of us are doodoo.

That Short of BAC made for a bad week and messed up my month. UGH!
Oh well. Market is still bearish. "It is what it is until it ain't."
I noticed that the Vulcan--who skipped two weeks--is racking up some pretty nice gains. If he wasn't so lazy and played every week, he'd probably be skunking the rest of us.

                            Rob's Pick for Week 5

Okay, Uphill Racer, I've decided I'm going to cast my lot this week with VLO long. Thanks brutha.

Of 518 stocks reporting earnings this week, VLO ranked #1 on my quick-'n'-dirty comparison ranking system. There are charts of the top 100 here, should anyone care to have a look.

We might all be speaking ebonically if Obama wins. Getting a little early practice in with the bruthas huh and close to some of their women.

Nice job Rob. Just scanning thru the charts in your post I see several patterns that have come up on my own scans and several other patterns that I found interesting and will now be watching.
I do have a question though. How do you set up a simple link like you did to the charts with the word "here"?
