    Pete,
Heard a comment yesterday that these institutions don't want to be the first to disclose their total losses that are actually more than double what we're lead to believe. They are hoping for a rebound that will enable them to dodge a bullet, meanwhile, the losses continue to climb. My plan for the Feds if they insist on bailing out the big boys is to offer a smaller % bailout to the C and MBIA types but offer a likewise but of course smaller dollar amount to the smaller institutions. Or just have a cutoff point from which there is no point of return regardless of size.

As executor of my sister-in-law's estate in New Jersey, I had extensive dealings with HCBK and was very impressed with every transaction! Not surprised, billyjoe. River

Who threw their money away? The shorts. But only for now. Yes, they sold themselves, and MBIA is no strong today than last week. But it makes volatility and money for themselves--for now.

              MBIA MBI Teetering

All kinds of bail out plans appear to be forming ....MBI is desparate ....The government may step in and offer a bail out plan ( With YOUR Tax Dollars ) but I feel it will be too little too late. It would take more than a pea shooter to stop an avalanche I still think ya can make money by buying the MBI Aug 12.5 Put MBITV ..........GOOD LUCK TO ALL as this Turkey bites the dust !
