We're looking into getting one of those giant windmills on our farm. I think they pay 1700 per month. The land isn't farmed but overgrown and wooded. Used to be vineyard and 5000 apple trees 50 years ago. Giant electrical towers are about 75 yards from lot line.

What a great idea! Do you have a lot of wind out that way? I guess it all depends if you can negotiate a deal with the local power company. Sounds worthwhile to look into.

      River,
Our land runs into the Erie Metroparks. On the high side of an abandoned quarry they built an observation deck. From there on a clear day you can see the Davis Bessie Nuclear Power plant over 30 miles away. Also looking over the Lake you see the Perry's Monument on Put- in -Bay. It's one of the highest points in the county and they say was once the south shore of Lake Erie. The soil and rock formations are completely different as you go north and the change happens in just a few feet. Rock to the south and topsoil to the north.
