that is nothing compared to all the profits I've made thanks to the Huge maestro.

I think the news of the HIV vaccine, while great for the world, certainly may have a negative fundamental impact on ALLI's business in the long run. Could be profit taking by the longer term investors.

If this was a cure I would say dump it. But the vaccine recently announced, statistically at this time, will protect about a third of those receiving it. How long will it be for this and other more effective vaccines to get some legs? While I do hope HIV can be prevented I see this recent news affecting ALLI sentiment but not fundamental bottom line for years to come.

Just my .02, but I think this is still one to accumulate at these lower levels and expect earnings and projections to remain in line which will get the sentiment back on track.

Not 4-6 weeks as hoped but fundamentals still ok.
      I'm still in.
      Thanks Ernie.

ALLI being acquired for $6.60 cash

Thank you Ernie. While not exactly as planned, your writeup was very sound and I kept acquiring on the way down for a cost basis is 5.57. Today I am out with a 15%+ gain.

Allion Healthcare to be acquired for $6.60 a share
        2:47a ET October 19, 2009 (MarketWatch)
TEL AVIV (MarketWatch) -- Allion Healthcare Inc., the Melville, N.Y., provider of specialty pharmacy and disease-management services, said late on Sunday that it definitively agreed to be acquired by an affiliate of HIG Capital LLC for $6.60 a share cash. The company valued the deal at about $199 million plus HIG, the Miami investment firm, will assume or repay $79 million of debt. On Friday, Allion shares closed at $5.44, indicating that HIG is paying a premium of 21%; the company noted that the deal price was 30% over the five-day average closing price before the deal was announced. Allion's directors unanimously approved the terms, and holders including Parallex LLC representing more than 41% of Allion's shares have agreed to vote for the deal. Raymond James advised Allion's board. Subject to antitrust clearance and other conditions, the company hopes to close the deal in the first quarter.

There is something amazing about ALLI, since oct 19th it has traded within a extremely narrow range of 7 cents.Their 3rd Q result should be out this friday, but strangely enough there is no mention of it on their website.

                  ALLI is outperforming it's industry

It's a solid company that is valued at $18.51 a share. I know it will hit $$$MM$$$'s target of $8.36, just hard to say when. Maybe buy now at $6.50 and sell at $7.47 for a quick 15%???

Wow, I just saw that. HIG Capital to pay $6.60 a share. It does say they are a private investment firm. So what happens in this situation. Does your brokerage company just give you $6.60 a share and it's over?

Correct. My only hope is that the shareholders will squawk and convince management that they are giving the company away. Otherwise, I start the streak all over again!

Maybe keep the streak alive, but with an asterisk next to ALLI. Events were beyond your control.

I am done with ALLI. Sold it this morning at 6.49$. This stock is beyond me, i mean,i have never seen a stock with a vol of > 100K/day remain so flat for days and weeks at a stretch.I was hoping it would bump up after their Q3 results - but no,still flat as a rattle snake.Good to see it off my books.

Well, of course it is flat. It is $.11 shy of the buyout price, and some people want to get rid of it now and other people want the $.11 left in it. I am out too for a bit less for some weeks now.

                              Regards,

                                ALLI - Now what?

Probably a real rookie question but - Now that HIG has bought ALLI, now what? I assume I will see the cash appearing in my account soon - ? Very odd, no messages or news at e-Trade. Just makes me nervous to see that much money suddenly disappear from my portfoilio.
