That's right. I remember the old symbol , not CANGX. What a stinker.Didn't you question the performance at the old forums and they threw a fit? I checked historical quotes. If you put in $10,160 at the start, 10/04/05 it would have grown to $10,360 in 5 years , 10/04/10, and today worth $12,040. I've made more picking up aluminum cans from the streets. They probably just haven't perfected the canslim methodology.

Billy...WAKE UP...In Sept 2004...B4 that there were 2 other CS Funds that went by the wayside tho...In the 70's the O'Neil Fund and in the 90's the New America (or something like that) Don't recall the 70's fund's demise but the one in the 90's was sold to MASS MUTUAL.

The current one that started in 2004 had a different symbol at the beginning...But it was sold somewhere along the line.

    Doug,
I thought the canslim fund didn't exist anymore. Have they reinvented themselves again?

Most sites do that...They could easily post Cups w/ Handles ahead of time...But most don't breakout...And of those that do most fail....take a look at mine and decide what did and didn't work...It is what it is.

But like most sites they emphasize what worked...not what didn't.

One thing I do not like about IBD is all those little add-ons...Like E-Tables and Leaderboard...If one wants to be a Canslimmer they don't need all that...All they need is Marketsmith...They don't even need the paper or all those expensive seminars.

But Marketsmith does have some good info...Rather expensive but not so bad if you are actually gonna use it...Doesn't mean you have to practice Canslim.

However, recently I have another beef w/ IBD...They list stocks by sector and they tell you that the best sector is listed first and so forth...Now I know their Groups are rated by 6 month performance which is waaaaaaay too long for even the intermediate term investor...So I call Customer Service and some guy tells me the Sectors are ranked by daily...No way...The guy didn't know jack...So I email them and they tell me their Sector ranking period is proprietary...If it is proprietary then the sector rankings are completely worthless to anyone.

I don't post IBD stuff so I won't post the tickers...But on this week's IIC 100 there are 11 that are on the IBD 50...And there are 18 IIC FUN 50 stocks that are also on the IBD 50.

So for any of you Canslimmers I guess the FUN 50 might be more your style.
