Resistance 2040-2050...Support at 1969/1918/1878. pretty wide range and most of the Indicators were a shakey yesterday.

The following Indicators on the Short-term OverBOT/SLD Oscillator were down from the previous day...The one's with an * were way down:

NYSE
NAZ 100*
SP 400*
SC 600*
NAZ RS 100*

The only one I do that was up was the SP 500.

I will play it cautious going into the New Year. I always say if you are not sure(or reasonably sure) then it is best to stay out.

HANS...Not one to pawn the wife's wedding ring over but look at the pennant...it is running long major resistance at 8.45. Couldn't stay over it yesterday. The group stinks but this one has the highest RS in the group (86).

I had Akam on my watchlist this week as well, what do you like about it?
Myself am liking the overbought oversold indications, its in for a small reversal, id say jump to about $11.10 from $10.75 tomorw,

Main thing I like is the tight price action since 12/12 on low volume...Resistance at 11.05 but much more at 12.02...Support at 10.13.

This is one I might buy if it takes off on vol.

7:02AM Quidel Corp flu test driving revenue growth -- B-Week (QDEL) 10.77: The shares of QDEL, maker of a broad array of rapid-result diagnostic tests maker, such as the Quick Vue flu test, are grabbing Wall Street's attention. "The test will strongly drive up revenue growth worldwide as we enter the peak season for the flu and other infectious diseases," says Adam Chazan of Pacific Growth Equities, who has a buy rating on Quidel. Quidel has 52% of the flu test market -- accounting for 28% of total revenues -- and beats out rivals Becton Dickinson (BDX ) and Thermo Electron (TMO ), notes Chazan. CEO S. Wayne Kay says a new flu test will be launched in Japan in January and should raise Quidel's 28% share of the flu test market there. Already, the stock has leapt from $6 in October to a high of $11. Matt Arens of Kopp Investment Advisors, which owns 4.4 million shares, or 15%, says Quidel has the ability to sustain a yearly earnings growth rate of 35% to 40%. His 12-month target is $17.

BLTI and INTV

BLTI went on a tear again today, up over 15% to over $19. It got mention in IBD's Big picture, real most active, and cracked into the top 100 at #100. Should be an interesting ride here in the new year.

INTV broke out wednesday, but stalled today. It was picked up as a strong buy by one of the analysts, with a target of $15.

I'm in both for the ride.

Good Luck On Both...I didn't think INTV had it...guess I was wrong...I owned BLTI at 12.50 and SLD at a profit...would have to look it up...But then again I SLD OVTI in Dec. '02 and MSFT in '89 and I SLD MIDD at 25.95...Such is the life of a Hit 'n Run Trader...Best, IIC

When to sell BLTI

IIC, any views on when to sell BLTI? About half my portfolio is BLTI I bought at $11.86 and $13.30 a couple of months ago. I like Mr. Market's idea of repeated small gains making you more money than long holds. A long hold for me is six months. Right now I would give BLTI a fair value of $21sh a share (60 P/E) * (estimated .35 cents EPS assuming .20 4th quarter). Was thinking of holding out for $25. This is one of those stocks that could make you a millionaire by itself if it keeps returning 60% YoY. I'm just not sure it will.

I don't know if you or anyone else noticed this, but BLTI is #100 on this week's IBD 100...I read all the little comments below the listings. Under BLTI it says they will restate downward for '01, '02 and part of '03...Take a look. I must assume this is common knowledge and maybe it is already built into the price. But maybe it isn't commonly known? I don't see any news on that anywhere else(Of course, I didn't look very hard either)..You might want to check it out ...Best, IIC
