I've been cryin' about inflation for quite some time while I listen to others claim it is not so bad...Well, in the last 25 yrs the avg. CPI increase has been 3.22% according to economagic. In So Cal it is 5.2% right now. I hope the Feds take the appropriate action on Sept. 20th...Doug

Sat radio...been thinking about that...Last Thursday my Fave radio station ...KZLA gave up Country Western after 25 yrs...Last C & W station in LA...The biggest country western market in America.

According to the LA Times article the owners said they want to go after the growing Hispanic market...So Urban Music geared towards female Hispanics...Now I have absolutely nothing against female Hispanics...But how thin can they spread that around?...Maybe Rick Dees will pull 'em in???

So now what?...Do I have to pay for radio now???...I'll go back to News Radio for the time being...Until I have time to figure this whole radio thing out...Geez, I sure miss the the old Hip Hop Days...Too bad Bobby Brown got mixed up with What's her Face..."Every Little Step He Took"...Was the wrong step...And What about Rob and Fab???...."Guess it wasn't true girl"

Doug, no, you don't have to pay for radio to get country. In Roanoke, which only has 100,000 people, we've got a couple of country radio stations: there are WYYD, which also streams its show over the internet, WSLC, and I can get WAKG in Danville, but it has a little static.

I used to listen to KZLA sometimes too, but I was more of a talk radio junkie. I miss hearing George Putnam. I guess he must be either retired or maybe even dead by now, because he was already in his 80s when I used to hear him 15 years ago.

p.s. Sorry, we don't have any Pollo Loco restaurants though.

By golly, you're right! George Putnam is only 92, according to his Wikipedia page. I thought he was older than that.

If you want country music in the car without satellite radio, you can move to Roanoke. Of course if you prefer to stay in Southern California, you can move to Bakersfield. As I recall scanning the radio dial while driving through there, about 75% of the stations are country, about 20% are Spanish language stations, and everything else makes up the remainder.

I believe we will see 2100ish this month before we make a good move

Posted that 2 days ago...But then last night I was having doubts while looking at technicals...Crazy market...My scanner says pretty strong Naz support at 2110...If that doesn't hold then I think we will see sub 2100...But it's tough to call...Of course, it is always tough but recently it has been tougher than usual....Will check back the last hour...IIC
