Welcome everyone !

A new year begins to show off your stock picking skills ! This year I've made a few small changes, these additions have been added to the Rules section, but I will highlight the main changes here:

• Have adopted the Gold, Silver, Bronze practice
• Winning can be through your ROI, most Gold medals, or most Medals
• Must have at least one gain, and one loss to attain the bonus win of the Math Expectancy or Kelly Value
• Have included a new Stock Picking form that reduced my workload, and enters your pick immediately
• You must be a Mr. Market member for your form entry to be valid
• Bonus: If Mr. Market allows, I will be giving a cash award for any one who can attain all 3 wins, ROI, most Gold Medals, and most Medals

Some things I will add as we go along, such as quarterly charts, full year running chart, etc etc. Just want to get a couple weeks of data before starting. All links are listed in my signature, including the Stock Picking form, POTW scoreboard, POTY Scoreboard, and a new Summary section that allows you to compare yourself to everyone else a little easier. As well as the Rules of course. I am up for rule changes up until 2/1/10 so please feel free to give input on or off the forum until then. After that, they will be locked.

JBII works, anything you can find on Google finance is valid. I entered your pick into the form


I will post my picks here exclusively as though I can do it from my form and I will have the valid timestamp, and you can actually see that timestamp listed as they come in on the Scoreboard, I could easily manipulate and cheat if I wanted, not that I would but

So, since I cannot change my entries here without any Admin noticing my edits, I will post them here.

Going to set up the the Pick of the Year this weekend... unless anyone wants to change it, I was going to keep them the same. However, change one thing.

My thought was to have 3 winners....

1 for All Picks
1 for All Picks < $2
1 for All Picks > $2

Mainly because penny stocks are hit or miss... your % win if you hit it will guarantee you to crush everyone else. So my thought would be to open it up to still give you the chance to win with it, but have another class so to be fair

Unless people disagreed... ?

1 for All Picks < $2
1 for All Picks > $2

Mainly because penny stocks are hit or miss... your % win if you hit it will guarantee you to crush everyone else. So my thought would be to open it up to still give you the chance to win with it, but have another class so to be fair

Wouldn't that be two winners, since the winner of all picks would necessarily also be in one of the other two categories?

Nevertheless, as I see it the rules are whatever you want them to be since you're the one running the contest.

I'm tempted to pick JASO again, but I haven't given it much thought yet. I have the same question Dancin' Pete Hansen has: when is the deadline for entry?

I'm also in on this one. Of course, Webs just became a millionaire with somebody else's money, so he can afford to lose some. But I trust your judgement too, so I'm willing to back you up.

Nod.... but thought that would at least give a chance for multiple winners for their class. It always seems that for instance, if you bought a health stock that was waiting for results, could go up from 0.7 to $7 by the end of the year, which most stocks don't do. Not that I'm saying that's cheating, that is completely legit greatness

Just trying to be fair to all, maybe I shouldn't But would like input if anyone agrees/disagrees/like/dislikes the thought of this... So thank you Rob !
