Wooish's NYB is one stock to consider if you're looking for a bank. Down over 6% YTD it is rated with 5 stars (highest possible) by bauer financial ratings. A buy rating from "The Street", NYB, New York Community Bankcorp, pays an 8.26% div currently paying nearly 93% of its earnings and has been doing so for 33 consecutive quarters. As a precautionary note, Barchart rates it a strong sell. I own a lot of it myself , have been reinvesting divs. for years, and rate it a "buy". Thomson Reuters says it pays the highest div. of any bank or thrift with comparable volume traded.
