Maybe it's just a matter of short vs. long term holds and of course timing.

    billyjoe,
I am speaking specifically of his entry points as on numerous occasions being a better place to short the stock than enter on the long side. all of his picks are fundamentally sound. that is the one recurring point in all of his picks. its the timing of his entries that i am talking about. I cannot honestly say that I have witnessed a point in any of them during their move up where i would say short the stock here. but there have been a high number of times where at his initial entry point I would have disagreed completely and would have shorted the stock instead and did with nice rewards. there is a time and a place for every trade and its his entries that i have disagreed with on a number of times, not the picks themselves. I have also on a number of occasions shorted the stock and then bought it for a long play after exiting the short. its the timing that is an important part of any trade regardless of which side you are taking.

Greece seems to becoming an issue again and the markets look poised for a correction so it may be time to compile some short candidates. Anyone have any?

I'm still holding the short position on ROST from $2.65. Still feel the indexes are setting up for a decent correction and ROST will follow the market down at least a 10% correction from these highs for ROST. Market could easily give back another 4/5% from these levels.

Yes, I agree ROST is a nice choice but only if/when the market makes it move. If the market goes up so does ROST.

I have been eyeing SWHC for a good short entry

Fundamentally it is a lot weaker of a company than ROST.

my feelings are that the indexes need a decent correction of anywhere from 3/5% and that most stocks will follow the indexes lead whatever it does regardless of their fundamentals. one thing about ROST is that even with very strong fundamentals is is still off a point from when I first shorted it about 3 wks. ago. with the indexes whipsawing like they have been of late, mostly on the news bits regarding the Greek debt issue, the long side still hasn't been able to take control. on the up days I think most traders are selling into any strength with any stocks they are holding in anticipation of what the index charts are showing.

Liquidity still flowing in, institutions in accumulation, 3-day weekend coming up--maybe trader selling today so not to be long over weekend risk--"...understand that the increasing risk levels are such, that a very fast and quick drop could occur ... it is a growing possibility..." (from my favorite guru, you know who).

when I first shorted ROST it and the markets were in different different waves than the present. but regardless I still think they are both setting up for much needed corrections. my money is on the short side right now.

It's been 45 months since we've seen dow 13,000....and the last time above 13,000 only lasted 8 months...I'd venture to say we'll see some increase volatility once we touch 13....

Looking at BIIB the chart is showing some weakness. It is poised to break below its 50 DMA and if that happens we could see a drop to $110.00. Market still looks ready to correct.
