    US will not default its debt, this is a short-term hiccup. Consider it congress erectile dysfunction.

      Probably won't default, but I have no idea what the implications would be if they do/don't. It's good that there is a conversation going on about our debt as a country.

          And it seems option 1 prevails. Once again we (the US) kick the can down the road. It is sad to see how much our leaders have failed to deal and address with the issues facing this nation. Our crushing debt and unwillingness to deal with it will be this nations undoing. Not today but in the near future, our children's future, the US will be a shell of it's former self. Enslaved to the foreign debt holders and awash in national fake money printed simply so the US could buy its own debt. Maybe, in a few months, when this crisis once again falls upon us... our leaders will look to the future and do something but... past history has shown this to be unlikely at best.
