Real Halloween Story

A few years ago a customer of mine at the greenhouse mentioned an elderly friend of hers that lived alone in a small house surrounded by flowers in a picturesque setting. I drive by that house often but didn't know who lived there. One day my customer went to visit and found the old lady looking scared and very disturbed. Her nephew had threatened to harm her and her property unless she gave him money. The visitor was very angry. She told me " I thought to myself I wish the Good Lord would punish the creep". The nephew lived in the only house on a street dominated with light industry and warehouses. I was also familiar with his house having driven by often and noticed 2 matching Z-28's in the yard. About 2 weeks later the nephew aged 31 was found dead in the house. No apparent cause said the police. A feel good halloween story.

I just had my grave marker installed this summer. I paid for a foundation 42 inches deep so the monument would remain level for centuries hopefully.

Billie noticed you are familiar with plants. A fellow on the Saturday Radio here is promoting products which are good for the garden and lawn namely, Turf Trust, Plant Trust and Garden Trust .......any comments on these products?

In my old neighborhood there were punks who would hang out , and then when you were coming home with your bag full of candy they would steal it . Fortunately I escaped getting robbed by running into backyards and hiding on porches! I was too smart for those useless bastards! LOL

Phoenix, It's good stuff but I'm too much of a cheapskate to spend $40 4X each year to treat 5000sq.ft. of my lawn. Actually that's not a bad price but I'd rather put the money into the stock market. Two years ago I bought all the fertilizers, grub killers, insecticides, fungicides, weed killers etc. and my lawn still looked like crap by late summer. This year I did nothing and it didn't look any worse.

I'm experimentin with lawn and garden. Organic style. Whatever is strongest will survive, and not too much care besides trimming once things start growing. This year I'm improving soil quality by seeding white clover and removing areas covered with tarp and mulch. Planting tulips, rose bushes, and the rare chinese holly with other bush types a la One Straw Revolution.

I am not a Halloween guy but I had an idea, which I decided against it. I was planning to buy a full size dismembered human doll and placing on my bedroom. I will make the apartment seem like it was burglarized and open the door of my bedroom. I would hide and see my roommates reaction, then I thought this is bad idea.
