You were here for 3/4 of the contest. I believe I brought you to the forum on 3/26 of that year, which was too late to enter that POTY.

BTW Doug, what did you wind up doing with that million bucks?

I note that my loss in this year's contest surpasses Ernie's loss in 2006. Of course there are still 45 days left.

I'm waiting for the market to correct next month, and everyone to see 50%+ losses. It's the only way to win!

Someone told me craftsman tools still have a lifetime replacement warranty. How is that possible if they're made in China? I've bought tools from the Chicago Tool Company (China) that broke the first time I used them. Notably, a hacksaw.

The lifetime warranty is only good for the life of the Sears Holdings company that owns Craftsman... so, maybe it's not for as long as you think it is.

I was at Sears today. The last time I was in a Sears store was when I was ten years old. This Sears store looks and smells the same inside, nothing has changed.

I remember the Sears in my city was always next to a Montgomery Ward and a Mervyn’s. I don’t remember so much going to a Montgomery Ward. I browsed wards.com today and it is expensive. I liked Mervyn’s.

Sears, Home Depot, Lowes all have lifetime warranty on tools.

My brother gave me an old black 5/8 inch Sears garden hose when he moved away. It was not long after that I discovered a pin hole leak. I called Sears and they said "bring it in and we will replace it free." So I took it in and picked out a 50 foot so-called "no kink" hose. After using it for a few weeks, I spoke with my brother and I told him what happened. He said "I did not buy that hose from Sears!" Ethically I felt a bit guilty about the whole thing, so I continue to buy stuff from the men's department to make up for the mistake.

BTW, faucet makers (DELTA, MOEN, etc) also have lifetime warranties - I just received a new cartridge for my 10-year-old kitchen faucet that was leaking. The part was free and no shipping costs.
