2023 PotY Contest Standings As of Market Close, Dec 8

The market continued its consolidation this week, and as a result, most of our picks remained pretty static. In a minor disappointment, Tiedyed’s AUTH dipped just below the break even point leaving us with five picks in the green. There is a silver lining, though, as Antioch’s SONY moved up to hover just below the break even line putting us into a position to soon have seven picks in the green. As for the leaderboard, things remained the same with Louetta’s NVDA still in orbit followed by HUBS in second and Mr. Market’s RAVE in third. Let’s see which way we break out of the consolidation over the coming week(s). My bias is neutral for short term trading.

Not a bad year for the markets overall, with a 15% gain in the S&P stocks from Jan to Dec, and a whopping 35% rise in the NASDAQ! Too bad only 3 of us are able to beat the S&P with our POTY picks... I bet next year we will do better!

2023 PotY Contest Standings As of Market Close, Dec 15

It was a good week for the markets as all three indices broke out to the upside from their consolidation. This floated our picks up, and as a result, we now have seven picks in the green. Woo hoo! As for the leaderboard, things remain the same with our deep space explorer, Louetta’s NVDA, firmly in first followed by HUBS in second and Mr. Market’s RAVE in third. Where do we go from here? The markets look a little extended here to me, and the topping tails at the end of the week hinted at a little exhaustion. I am therefore expecting either some more consolidation or a little pullback from here in the short term. Seeing as it’s the holidays, I don’t expect anything major, unless of course the Wall Street types need to take some profits to pay for last minute Christmas presents. It’s almost over, pickers, so wrap up your holiday shopping and ride the final wave home.

It was kind of a bland week, but that’s to be expected heading into Christmas. I don’t expect much action during our next and final week either heading into the new year. The leader board remains the same with Louetta’s monster, NVDA, coasting home, HUBS in second, and Mr. Market’s RAVE firmly in third. There’s still a chance we could end up with eight picks in the green. We’re soooo close. Come on, SQ.
