I posted last week that I thought the markets were going to drop somewhat further from these levels an I still feel the same way longer term. Shorter term over the next week or so I am with you but I can't say with any real conviction if it will happen. Here is what Briefing.com's "Technical Take" column had to say about the markets yesterday.




We definitely could use some help from the NASDAQ and the SOX and techs in general. We have't been getting any real support or strength from these two groups. With some help from the tech sectors we could have a nice short term rally. But deep in my heart I feel there is something negative lurking out there that the big money knows about and we don't because it seems that there has been some unloading of positions whenever there is a show of strength.

If you could look at a list every day of the top 50 high volume gainers and the top 50 high volume losers , almost without exception , even on DJIA up days, the high volume down stocks are dominating, in terms of total volume. This can't be good technically.
