    Hi Tranquility98,

When somebody says: "I bought this stock," it's called an example.
When somebody says: "buy this stock," it's called advice.
At least, such are the definitions over here, more or less, give or take.

    Karel,

For a guy who can't speak English, you have an amazing way with words!

      *ahem*

I want to take this random moment to thank Mr. Market for what he does do to help (at least) me in my investing. I find your data dumps and top fives to be among the most helpful bits of information on this board (and there is plenty). I've tried numerous stock screeners trying to pare down the mind-boggling number of stocks into something more manageable; the problem is, most of them seem to tell me which stocks just had their day in the sun, not which ones are still basking in the glow.

      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For Tranquility from someone that has also been investing for about a year, but likes to think he did his homework: One bit of advice would be to stay away from penny-scam stuff. HQNT is one you say you own - I don't have any proof one way or the other, but I'm going to guess that someone will eventually go to jail over that company. Cheaper stocks dazzle the mind, because it is just a hop skip and jump until you make ~millions~ but usually you just lose money while padding some crook's wallet (exception to every 'rule' of course - I've got money in PHSL.PK, but not enough that I'd lose much sleep if it went to zero, which it could).

Meanwhile, it takes just 5 consecutive Mr. Market picks to double your money...and he has 59 running (HUGE!).

I also dont understand it much...I as doubled my investment in exactly 1 yr...but then didnt know when was the correct time to sell...I always seem to buy and sell at the wrong time....I'm still higher then what was original invested but its not really doing what i had hoped for....SOOOOOOO if you wound'nt mine I'd like some advice....

Currently i have stocks in HQNT,NT,IPVO,TCHL

Currently i have in cash $1260 to invest in....Thanks
Of all the ticker symbols you listed, NT is the only one that is an actual stock symbol. How old are you anyways...13? maybe 14?

$1260??? That's all you have? What a loser. Go buy some candy little boy!

          Websman,

With all due respect, give Tranquility a break. Everyone on this board started out with less than $500 at some time or another. Tranquility should be commended for doing the right thing, investing his money rather than spending it.

              oops.... Sorry Huge one...

I humblely apologize Tranquility. I guess I jumped the gun. I guess I've spent too many years working in prisons and beating the crap out of defenseless convicts for small things like coughing in the chow hall line. I need to work on my PR skills huh?

I can promise you that if you hang around here, you will learn a great deal and you will turn that thousand bucks into much more.

              keep up the good work!

In Feb. 2001 I made my first purchase. $100.00 on DELL $100.00 on HDI and have worked my way up slowly from there. Do side line jobs to support my new habit, so as you can all guess, this old chap is statring out with more than I. So I wish you the best of luck and this is the best place on the web to learn or receive free advice on where to get information to help you in your investments.

I can advise you that out of my 27 stocks TRGL is doing the best in the last few weeks. Up 28.22% in less than three weeks. Plus the 8% it was down.

PS leave the $ amount out of your posts. ===> MEA

As usual, Mr. market delivers. His patience exceeds that of the gods as he waits for ALL of his picks to reach that 15% profit. Keep up the good work and I am looking forward to the next pick.

Mr. Market has made a believer out of me.

What can I say but thanks, to the greatest stock picker of all the land Mr. Market. I picked up some NUTR a few weeks back on his recommendation made a quick 11% and currently holding a profit on DW.
I have only been a member for about 3 weeks now and batting a 1.000.

Mr. Market hits them harder and farther then Bonds.
