Webs: on vectorvest, try clicking on "Market Timing Graph" under "Charts & Graphs" on the main page, set the period to all weekly, and click "Markers" and choose "Market Timing Dates" and tell me what you think. Seems like they are almost completely wrong most of the time, forcasting Up at the peaks and Down at the bottom quite often.
      Buy Low
      Sell High

For some reason, my computer keeps freezing when I click on the "Market Timing Graph". I'll try it again tomorrow. Might be time for a new Dell.

So far, the only thing I like about Vectorvest is the stock reports.

I'm already losing faith in Vectorvest.

It's a good way to search for new canidates, but I don't see the justification for the high monthy subscription fee.

My Vectorvest trial period is now officially over.

Here is my conclusion - Vectorvest is a great for finding stocks, but in my opinion, it is not worth the high subscription fee. I have found another site that is much cheaper and a better place to find stocks.
              It's called www.mrmarketishuge.com

I have decided to try the Vectorvest system. I have not yet received my software package after signing up 7 days ago. How long did it take for you to get your software?
I also get a couple of error messages when accessing some parts of the program on-line. Interestingly enough, they do not have a toll-free tech support number and I can't seem to get them to respond via E-Mail although they tout a 24 hr maximum response time. That is not encouraging.
I have been trying to find results if you pick their top 5 or 10 VV port stocks over the past 6 months but cannot find that on their site. I also am looking for the same in any of their searches but most for their aggressive "Riding the Wave" approach.
Were you able to find any verifiable results listed. They backtest some hypotheticals but do so with search criteria purposefully selected and tested from know market trend dates. It seems more "cherry picking' than reality.
I tend to agree that the system clearly points out what we already know but I don't see a lot to justify the price.
                Your comments would be appreciated.

                  Gator,
I took the 5 wk. free trial myself about 3/4 weeks ago just to run it and try it out. I got the online version and have found it somewhat useful. I like their procharts and their rating system but it really doesn't fit into my type of trading strategys. I'm coming to an end to the trial subscription and don't think I will be taking out a subscription.
I don't know if you have read or heard me mention this outfit previously but their name is Morpheus Trading Group. It's run by a guy named Deron Wagner. Their web site is Morpheustradinggroup.com. He's as sharp a trader as I've come across and his winning record proves it. He is basically a short term swing trader. They offer two subscriptions. One to his Wagner Daily report which deals exclusively with ETF's (exchange traded funds) and the second to his Stalk Sheet which deals exclusively with stocks. It's an education in itself on everything to do with technical analysis. The Wagner Daily is $49 a month and the Stalk Sheet is $149 a month. You can get a combined price of $175 a month if you subscribe to both at once. He offers a free 1 month, no obligation whatsoever, free trial to each. If you don't earn way more than the subscription price each month I would be surprised and would have to believe you're not following his lead. I've been a subscriber for over two years now and the results are outstanding plus the education in technical analysis is worth the subscription price. It doesn't cost a nickel to run it for a month.

I had seen you mention Morpheus before but had not followed up to research it. Will check it out. The TA education itself sounds very attractive. Thanks.

                      Gator,
The first month is free and you'll come away from it much more tuned in to a professional traders take on short term swing trading. He's as disciplined as they come and the educational value in that alone is worth it. Plus he explains each an every move. You'll thank me before the first month is over.

It sounds very interesting. I am browsing the site now. He seems to discourage anything other than actions based on established criteria and, as you indicate, a totally disciplined approach. The only question I have now is when to begin my free trial. With past history in mind, do you think I should begin the trial next week or wait 2 weeks until the yearend turmoil is over and start my trial in January?

                          Gator,
Good question. I would wait until after the first week in January. With Christmas and the New Years etc.., holidays coming on, they might be going on vacation or limit their trading activities etc. during this time period. It makes sense to wait until after the 1st of the year. I would wait. They'll still be there. NTAP was one of their leads and setups and my most recent trade. Just for fun check out what VV has to say about them. They give NTAP pretty high marks in evey catagory. Just a conincidence I guess.
I wasn't really trying to knock VV. I actually do like the service, especially their Strategy of the Week an other Stragegys that you can setup and run and backtest. I've been experimenting with several of their catagories an I think they're pretty neat and seem to hold water. It's just that I'm a short term swing discipline and they are a longer term strategy it seems. They do give great fundamental info in a wide range of areas. Glad you're going to try Morpheus. It's free so what can you lose?

Like you, I am still checking out VV. They are quite high on NTAP so that does say something regarding their opinion in that particular case. I still have concerns with any service that does not either have a toll-free support number nor answers their E-Mails from support in a timely manner. I would also like VV to do as Morpheus does and list how their top 10 VV selections have performed over the past qtrs. If the results were stellar, I would think they would be easy to find and verify. In any event, will continue to tinker with VV and get into Morpheus in January. Looking forward to checking out Morpheus.

If you follow his lead, with regard to initial entry points, stop placement and trailing stops, an exits, you'll do very well. You'll get stopped out of a number of positions but the winners will run out and they will overcome whatever the loss % is due to getting stopped out and cutting any losses early.
