Hello fdny engine 282, I was born in Brooklyn & I now live up in New Hampshire. My 20 year old daughter is a volunteer rescue/EMT in our small town & also does ride along's with the Keene F.D. Someday she would like to join the FDNY. She also collects FDNY tee's. If you can get one for her I'll mail you a check to cover the cost. Regards, thebign1 (Norm)

Yo, I'm a relatively new member that lurks around & sometimes gets into trouble by posting copyrighted stuff, so I lay low! I'm a retired Verizon worker, splitting my time between Long Island, NY, (Lets Go Islanders, Yankees!) and Limerick, Maine. (Go Pirates!) My investing style is to buy high & sell higher, so $$$MR MARKET$$$ with his 45" pythons & meats & cheeses helps make my investment picks narrower. My favorites so far: CMN (in 24.53 & out 30.03), LUFK (in 48.31, out 57.66 before split)
I recently bought HANS, in at 88.80 & will exit at 102.12.
I was wondering what everyone thinks of DRI?

I like it when a guy like Drutzen or anyone of us posts on a stock like VPHM which I might not otherwise find and then it turns out like it has today. Dru, you definitely rock buddy. Thanks.

                What do I like?

I like just about everything on this site. It's filled with great stock suggestions as well as a great bunch of contributors. Thanks to all. And thanks $$$Mr Market$$$ for making this site available to all of us. It is HUGE!!!

My only regret is that I don't have more $$$ to invest, and, unfortunately, time is no longer on my side. Ernie, please fabricate a model to rectify this problem. It would be GREATLY appreciated.

And Gary611, I like DRI, with the exception of Red Lobster. I just don't really like Red Lobster, and I usually don't see many cars in the parking lot. I think it's DRI's anchor.
                Happy investing,
                Dave

My opinion is worth no more than the price you paid for me to give it.

The Smokey Bones restaurants look very inviting, but I don't believe we have any in the Baltimore area yet. I'd love to check it out though.

But, with Red Lobster, I just never see many customers there. I know DRI changed the Red Lobster model recently. They used to do the shrimpfest and lobsterfest multiple times per year, and I believe they lost $$$. Now they do it once per year (I think). Hopefully that will help.

And yes ... we bash crabs with hammers around here. And wash 'em down with lots of beer.
                    Happy investing,
                    Dave

Speaking of restaurants...I'm not a gourmet or anything although my wife is an excellent cook...but chains don't whet my appetite very often. However, I think Applebee's has good service. But Outback Steakhouse is overpriced dog food. Anyway, many might be good investments but many are YUCKY...and I'm not a picky eater either...IIC

Some of the best restaurants are the local ones. We have a local seafood restaurant called Guiseppes Wharf. They always have something a little different on the menu and it's usually great. The prices are very reasonable as well.

The chains are alright when nothing else is around. Cracker Barrel is a good one on road trips.

I like the ability to occasionally lurk and not get hit in the head upon re-entry like other places. This is like one big family, albeit at times dysfunctional so I know it is a real family.
