Update on my present positions... 8/26/05

        1. ELN - Bought at $6.88. Closing price today was $8.62

        2. EZEN.OB - Bought at $1.95. Closing price today was $2.45

        3. PDC - Bought at $14.25. Closing price today was $14.85

        4. NGPS - Bought at $26.00. Closing price today was $26.41

The market took back some of my gains today, but I was still way up for the week. It's nice to be in the green. I'll be letting all but ELN go for a profit next week if the market continues it's bearish attitude.

Luckily, I'm out of the path of hurricane Katrina. (175 mph winds) I imagine we will get some rain and a few tropical storm force winds, but things should be fine here. I would hate to be in Biloxi though.

I believe that we will see the market take a hit because of Katrina. I am seriously considering selling all my positons but ELN,which should hold up fine. The bears are going to jump all over this situation. If the market turns south, as I predict, I may just join the bear party and go short.

Is it time for a bear party? Is it time to profit from market panic?

My Vulcan senses have kicked in and I am now able to make a rational decision as to what do with my long positions.

My Vulcan logic tells me that the humans will panic in the morning and they will be selling their stocks because of Hurricane Katrina and high oil prices. Logical Vulcans, however, will not get involved in this mad sell off. A sensible Vulcan will sit tight on Monday morning realizing that the low prices of the day will take place during the first hour of the market opening. After that the market will either level off and even possibly rebound.

As a Vulcan, I also realize that higher oil prices are only a trick created by big money.
"The oil rigs have been wiped out and the worlds oil supply is gone!", they will scream.

I know that this is not true though. I realize that oil comes from many other sources than the Gulf of Mexico. How long will they be able to fool the masses into believing their crap? How long will they be able to keep oil prices inflated until they come crashing back down?

I will be cautious this weak and will consider taking profits, but Monday morning is not the time to do it. I will wait until the intial panic subsides.

Well, well, well...it looks like we got a rebound.

The action was quite interesting. It's getting easier all the time to predict human emotions in the market. Oil went sky high and the Lemmings jumped off the cliff as the market opened. The market quickly rebounded before the Lemmings smashed into the cold hard ground below.

I am finding my vulcan logic to be a very beneficial tool.

I ended up with a $2.50 gain today. wow. I suppose that beat a loss huh?

I guess I won't have to worry about losing any more money in Biloxi, since my favorite casino now sits on the opposite side of the road from where is used to be.

I'm leaning more towards closing my long positions and going short.

DHB would have made a good short today. This one is dead in the water.

                    I should have shorted DHB...

I sold NGPS for $26.95 for a small profit, but it is a profit.

I bought OFG for $13.54, which is not a great price if I were going for a day trade, but it should be fine for longer term. This is a Mr Market pick that went wrong, but I believe the time has come for OFG to recover.

So, I gues Ski is saying that OFG sucks. LOL

I'll be sure to set a tight stop on it.

No I wasn't saying that it sucks. I was just presenting a few things of interest regarding that whole sector. At this time I wouldn't be looking to enter anything in that sector myself an I am definitely not forecasting what OFG will do tomorrow or in the short term. I hope for your sake it continues the momentum upward. Any Vulcan knows that a reasonable stop will always protect your capital.
