Doug,
I don't know where this stuff comes from inside my head but
I think we could have a hit story line and sitcom with all of that. We should all put our heads together and get a script started. Can we come up with a name?THE SKIRACER'S EDGE: MAKE THE EDGE IN YOUR FAVOR

Update on my present positions... 8/01/05
1. ELN - Bought at $6.88. Closing price today was $7.90
2. EZEN.OB - Bought at $1.95. Closing price today was $2.54
3. ACW - Bought at $10.50. Closing price today was $12.50
I sold HISC.PK for a .03 loss. Although this was a tiny investment and a gamble play, I had to follow my sell rules. I'll find another penny play later.
ELN has recovered nicely. Nice move up today.
As a matter of fact, all three of my winners made a good move today, which has put my portfolio back in green!Last edited by Websman; 08-01-2005, 08:49 PM.

3. ACW - Bought at $10.50. Closing price today was $13.00
ACW reports tomorrow. Hopefully they'll have a good report and I'll make even more money. This is not a high volume stock, so it should be fine.
Although the first part of the year wasn't too hot, I still have a chance of doubling my portfolio by the end of the year. Can I make it happen? Of course I can...and will!

I got a fortune cookie last night that actually said something that made good sense. It read lsomething like this:
"Taking a risk may lead to failure, but success can not come without first taking a risk."
It's funny to me, that fortune cookies are an American invention. I have never seen one in China.

ACW shoud be fine as most companies reported good earnings, but I think you're wrong on the volume mention - the lower the volume stock the more volatile therefore if it disappoints it will drop harder than a stock that trades millions of shares...IMO

I like this one:
"In great attempts it is glorious even to fail"
and this:
"Work does not define a person; how one performs one's work does".

"Take calculated risks. That is quite different from being rash."
A very important distinction!

A couple of stocks of interest are GES, IDSA and IPIX.
GES was the first stock I ever bought and it was a winner for me. I originally bought it around $14 and sold for about $16. It's made a big run lately and is now at $24.99. I think I'm too late for this party.
IPIX...hmm. Do I spot an ascending triangle here? Could this baby be getting ready to fly like it did last year? I made a few quick bucks with it last year. I'm going to start getting serious about this one again. I just hope I don't stand on the dock too long and miss the boat.
IDSA...Another triangle and then a pop up today. Either this is a dead cat bounce or IDSA may shoot to the Moon again. Tomorrow should give a better indicator.
I'll be putting in an order for one of Poormans picks tomorrow. I'll post which stock it is after I buy it, since it wouldn't be fair to Poorman to be revealing his picks here, for free.
I'm going to have to take a sick day soon, so i can do some daytrading and hang out with all you retirees and self made millionaires.
Uh oh...The dang cat just knocked my cup of blueberry yogurt over right beside my keyboard! What a mess. I hate my cat! Gotta go!
