    Worried Traders Diary

This story starts out backdated , but will end up almost in real time. I hope the ending is more exciting than Geraldo Rivera's opening of Al Capone's vault.Everything is true . Just wish me a happy ending .

Wednesday Dec.8th A charting service I found through Google said to watch PLMO Palmone. If it hits 41 on volume it's going to break out. Closed today at 38.13

Thursday Dec. 9th PLMO closes at 37.55 I'm still watching this one.

Friday Dec. 10th It is advancing on double volume closing at 39.56. Watch out for Monday

Monday Dec.13th 8:30 am CNBC shows pre-market trading of PLMO up over 42. Well I missed 41 am heading out for my 40 minute morning walk. I'm back and hit the computer. It's at 42.365 on massive trading and I buy 300 shares. During the day it keeps going up 43 , 44. It ends at 44.50 up 4.94 today and I'm up $639, not bad.

Tuesday Dec.14th It opens at 44.63 and continues to climb, maybe I can retire a year earlier than planned maybe it'll run to 100 or higher another TASR or TZOO. It's up to 46.65 and I'm up $1275 in little more than 24 hours life is sweet! Wait a minute something is wrong, no! it's going the wrong way. Down to 42.75 why I don't know .My profit has shrunk to little over $100. Hey it's going back up whew . It closes at 44.60 up 10 cents and I'm up $669.

Wednesday Dec.15th Earnings come out tomorrow after closing. A good report is worth probably $1000 to me a bad report will cost me my $669 plus another grand. Pre-market is down 2.65 to 41.95 I'm in the hole, what's wrong. Some analyst from Lehman Bros. has downgraded PLMO to "equalweight" whatever that means. It opens at 42.15 , but rallies to close at 43.69 and I back ahead $390. I've decided to hold on to see what the earnings report says. Maybe I'm a fool. Everybody will know before tomorrow night. This story continues in the morning.

      Fnm

I worry about FNM. This news is not good. Fotunately, I listened to W.E.B. when he said these derivative schemes would catch up to them, and never bought any stock in them...

      anyone out there own FNM?

Smart investors develop a system, and a specific plan for each stock. Worry shouldn't be part of it. Stick to the plan, what happens happens.

Thursday morning Dec.14th 6:49am There's a conference call about PLMO's earnings tonight at 5:00pm. Best Buy announced a 20%+ increase in earnings so it might be a sign of good things to come. People seem to be holding off on buying clothing , but spending instead on electronics especially HD tv, including LCD, Plasma, and flat screen. Just so they also pick up a nice hand held computer by palmone to fill out the basket.

Thursday morning 8:27 pre-market PLMO 44.18 up .49 what does the pre-market crowd know that I don't? They're probably guessing just like the next guy. A recap , in the last 48 hours I've been up as much as 10% at 46.65 and down as much as 2.6% at 41.26. Currently am up 4.3% at 44.18.
While on my morning walk dodging snow and ice I figured my odds are 60-40 that PLMO will beat estimates. They missed last quarter and dropped 36%. They beat estimates the quarter ending in May and went up 18%.

Thursday morning 9:46 PLMO opened at 44.40 so far so good . If it misses earnings it will drop fast , have to sell as soon as possible.

As I watch now, PLMO is 44.50 after being up as high as + 1.21.
Enjoy your posts and have seen some of your posts on IBD forums. Am new to this forum and am having a bit of difficulty navigating the site. Am trying to get a handle on Mr Markets style and am putting some of it together. It appears he advocates buying at a 50% pullback point and selling at +15%. Is that close? Where on the site should I go to learn more and see his recent "hotlist" that I saw mentioned somewhere but I don't remember where? Thanks

Gatorman, Actually the 50% pullback is part of spikefaders thread on swingtrading Mr. Market's picks , just another method being tried. Go back and click on Mr. Market's personal portfolio which will direct you to his website that explains his model . It will become clearer after a little study.
Nobody attacks anyone hear . It is a much friendlier site than IBD. We actually have senses of humor here and admit we aren't all experts.

p.s. the hotlist is probably the "college bowl top 5" click on that thread

Thanks. New websites are a bit difficult for me to navigate until I get used to them. I have noticed that there are no attacks like IBD seems to favor. That is definitely refreshing. Will wander about the site and see what I can learn. May even have a thing or 2 to post in the future.

As you probably know, there is no middle ground concerning your methods and strategy over at IBD. With that kind of emotional reaction in something that should be as free of emotion as possible, it became a MUST that I come over here and see "what's the fuss all about."
I look forward to learning a bit.
