    The Christmas Top 5

    Here are the top 5 from my most recent dump. I will buy one of these sometime in the next couple of weeks as I will be busy with Yuletide festivities:

    ACRG.OB BSTE CMN CWTR NGPS

    Which one do you like? Maybe a spirited debate here will influence my opinion as I influence myself with some eggnog.

    Here's how the stocks you submitted fared:

    NGPS = Top 5!!
    TRGL = 6th
    SNDS = 16th
    MFLX = 17th
    CKCM = 18th
    PRFT = 24th
    ADSK = 26th
    TASR = 29th
    ELBO = 42nd
    SINT = 45th
    WYNN = 47th
    AVL = 55th
    LOJN = 57th
    BNI = 60th
    STEC = 61st

    I like BSTE they seem to have good solid growth last 5 years.

    I also like the story of this company. With the current health issues in this Country (obesity) they will continue to make money. Looks like over the past 12 months the stock price has climbed 119.3%. BSTE is a leader in the group.

      Closing prices and P/E ratios as of 12/23/2004

      Closing prices and P/E ratios as of 12/23/2004:

      ACRG.OB $3.06 - 9
      BSTE $60.25 - 29.3
      CMN $35.99 - 31.1
      CWTR $30.36 - 48.3
      NGPS $37.50 - 42.8

      ACRG seems like a bargain at 9 times earnings. Concerned about volume.

      BSTE looks good too, except for the lawsuits regarding patent infringements.

      CMN will be splitting 3/2 very soon. Has the price been run up because of this? Volume looks good to me.

      I'd probably pick CMN.
      Happy investing,
      Dave

      My opinion is worth no more than the price you paid for me to give it.

          I hope you pick ACRG, I already picked up some at 2.9 but am ready to pick up more... seems like a bargain at this price- a bit risky, but should pass 15% quicker than anything else.

          BSTE...ick

            I like ACRG better than BSTE. The P/E ratio makes ACRG a bargain. But aren't you concerned that there's not much volume on ACRG?

            Merry Christmas.

              ngps

              while it was my pick i think this baby is a bit extended, and once more of the ibd'rs jump out its gonna take a while to recover. Gps is a good upcoming business but I think its run is over extended

                CWTR for the heck of it. Haven't done any research, I'm on vacation and just popped in to see what was up. I seem to remember it from one of my screens so I'll give it my unwarranted support.

                  CMN looks like the best choice. ACRG is very interesting but thinly traded. CMN is rated A+ by IBD, ranked 9 by MSN, is being accumulated by institutions, has experienced a record price high and had a double top breakout on 12/20 with a projected price target of 57.0.
                  BSTE is oversold on stochastic and would be a good 2nd choice.
                  Will be interested to see which one you pick.

                    CMN was the Motley Fool Hidden Gem pick last month. Just FYI.

                      NGPS broke into the IBD top 5 on November 29th at $23.15. Don't you think we have already missed that one and it is getting overextended?

                              ngps

                              I see a couple of messages on this board on NGPS being over extended but without a basis as to why it's overextended.

                              Judging from my personal indicators I have yet to get a reliable sell signal; right now the charts tell me buy and hold, which I have since 26.50

                              I'd be interested in hearing someone's technical perspective on the stock...

                              I did get quite a few strong signals to sell CMN and buy TASR today @ open.
