Hey Lye,
We're so good picking stocks maybe we should put our heads together and...........stick to farmin'. Maybe that's why we both like to mess with portfolios and find out who the real brains are and glean off the information. I'm going to get better. You mentioned something about wiping the slate clean first of the year? My goal is to get in the top 10.

Good goal BillyJoe.... My goal is to be number one..... I've got some work to do huh?
I think there will prove to be REAL benifits from this little competition. Not just the from the "H" factor portfolio but from the points race revealing the faults in our stock picking strategies..... and posting them in RED for all to see....
That points standing in itself is a motivating factor for me to improve.... I hate to lose, and I really hate to be LAST! One thing that is slapping me across the face is my tendency to break rules and think I'm smarter than the charts. I look back at my VPHM short for example.... I look closer at that chart and see how stupid that play was.... And what makes it even more stupid was the fact that I've took it on the chin with my real dollars on that play too. I ain't whinning.... I'm just very mad at myself, as Spike would say, "need to go outside and give myself a big uppercut for doing that".BEEF!... it's whats for dinner!

But honestly dude, just mark it down as an educational expense and don't get too hard on yerself. Mistake; and we all make 'em. My recent mistakes have been entering POTW! haha Clean slate soon huh? Well I won't complain heheBut seriously, mistakes are healthy sometimes, especially when we need 'em. Runner put his hand up to a mistake today, good for him. It'll help him. We need little reminders every now and then. Like Webs may feel he was mugged for using that stop, but I think he played it 100% right. And I really hope he doesn't change what he's been doing because of that; it's just one of those things. Fact is, was and will always be that the market will do that to us; force our hand, call our bluff, force us to fold, then laugh in our faces.
But the clever people of the world see the value in a stop even though it looks ridiculous. Cuz at the time of the stop, the downside risk was unknown, and that was the limit of control he set for himself. Tight stops, great r/r every time, patience, behavior modification where needed, uppercuts where needed, whatever it takes, to get to perfection.
And that's why you'll forever hear me say that it's worth chasing perfect entries. It's WORTH it. There's just nothing like a trade that is stalked, pounced on and it behaves itself to perfection. Anything less is a pain in the butt and falls short in my book. And that's despite the situations I've closed a trade like VPHM back when it was at 9.80. Shoot, I called that bottom and didn't like the pattern. Sold it, and watched it run to 24.00!! And despite that, I still don't feel bad about what I did. The pattern didn't meet my standards, and that's that. It didn't act right. That's that. I say hunt 'em, be relentless about hunting them. Never give up. Great r/r and disciplined stops will save yer butt over the long run. Sheesh, I'm raving again; same old stuff every time!
But dudes, to finish, check THIS OUT: click here for a video of a very talented 'air chair' skiier. May we all trade with the skill that this guy uses that board!
PS Nice back yards guys.
PPS Congrats to whoever won. Pretty sure it was Ray. WTG!
