Yeah, I agree with this concept....at the very least cash. The penalty is ridiculous, and clearly isn't working. I think it should be scrapped.

ELOS running for the Burnt Toast Award now that it's lost that major support. Channel turn down today green lights the intraday pivot short (22.53) tomorrow people. 2.5% risk to target 17.00 is r/r of 10. Now that's hard to pass up.
Some clever dudes got in premarket above the pivot and sit with +4%. ELOS ............ coming to a Toaster near you hehe

Now Tim.... That wouldn't be fair to those (like me) whose entire life is defined by $$MM$$'s forum and the POTW....

"If you forget to play.... you freakin pay".... End of argument!

It works.... You play every week don't you Spike? Wouldn't you possibly skip out sometimes if not for the dreaded 5% penality?

Nobody likes rules and penalities.... yet they are so necessary in life.... and the POTW is my life....

I was responding to Rob's post regarding a number of former players who are now absent. There are a lot of people who will not play if they can not do well in the standings. I personally dont care where I end up. My challenge is to try to predict the movement of an equity in a very short time. It is difficult. I think it is better to relax the rules a bit, keep people interested, have a learning experience. Of course you and I disagree on a lot of things, so it is not surprising that we disagree here also. LOL.

Maybe we could tax the better players and apply the tax to say..... BillyJoe and Web's score?....LOL!!!!

Not really -- you are missing Rob's point -- I believe it is better to keep a lot of people interested and in the game -- I dont believe putting them into a QUASI security would hurt the overall standings of anyone -- if it did, then perhaps we should just play a QUSAI POTW.

So if my son was on a winning high school football team and failed to show up for football practice.... or missed a few games?.... he should not be penalized?.... Maybe the coach could give him a quasi-football trophy and hug him for his "effort".... WRONG! he'd be humiliated and kicked off the team! That's just life....

.....and then he'd have to deal with ME!

You are mixing your fruit, Lye. This is not a sports forum, LOL Think up a good
investing scenario and then I might go along with you.

OK, I know how important it is to your ego that you have the last word. So this will be

my final post on this subject, hopefully.

Tim.... To me the market (and investing) is "sport".... Thus the POTW is a sports game.

                              Lye,
Thanks for considering me for "POTW well fare" , but my talent seems to be being the best at being the worst and I wouldn't want to mess it up. Didn't that American Idol guy what was his name ,William Hung ? make it big by being so bad. I'm on track for 16 consecutive losers !
