I have 22 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. If so, you are strongly urged to enter your POTW position prior to 4:00 p.m. today! That means no later than 3:59 p.m. today! Don't lose 5%! If you don't have a pick, enter $.
Rob,
Maybe you can clarify this for me. If I recall correctly, somewhere way back in the bowels of the POTW rulebook, was a rarely used option , I think #27d stating : " in the case of a contestant failing to enter position by the deadline , said contestant can assign his/her 5% penalty to a contestant with a stated position regardless of the performance of the position, hence, active contestant is insured of a loss on the week of 5% and nothing greater". This trading of losses or future losses has been perfected in the corporate world by such greats as Enron , amongst others. What say you , Rob ?

You need to see a dentist, man!
OPWV long!
99 percent of Politicians give the rest a bad name.
The H in Pete H. is standing for "HUGE" once again today! Pete's comin' off of a couple of rough weeks when the H was more for "hurtin'." Let's try to keep the shiny side up Pete! Careful with them penny stocks! They can turn a prince into a pauper in no time flat. (Of course, the reverse can happen as well.) Props, Pete!
It is logical that Websman will appear in 2nd place once in a while; it just seems that lately those once-es are occurring in greater whiles. Nevertheless, Webs pulled it off today, as his short call on SFCC turned out to be a mighty fine call! Way to go, Webs!
Not inconsistent with the market as of late, the 3rd place spot in our competition this week is another short play. Spikefader looked at the ELOS chart and decided it ain't a-goin' nowhere soon, so he shorted that puppy and came out smellin' pretty good on it. Spiffy, Spike! (Incidentally, I just checked ELOS's competitor, CLZR, that Doug likes to play now and then, and it got hit even a little harder than ELOS today.)
BoSox also kicked a field goal with ESCL! Bring it on, BoSox!
The dark clouds continue to hang over the markets today ...
Dow 10,792.58 down 99.34
Nasdaq 2,091.32 down 43.74
S&P 500 1,236.40 down 15.90
NYSE Volume 2,189,124,000
Nasdaq Volume 1,927,464,000

My real portfolio does much better. Vulcans are not day traders...
Let's see...CHNR up over 5% today...and w/ my Super Duper timing I lose over 9% on it...Fortunately...I didn't buy it in real life...Actually, I have not bot much of anything recently.
When I'm day trading long I prefer a flat market...my second preference would be an up market...But it is a waste of time for me to try to fight a hard downtrend...So I will just wait it out unless I happen to be at the right place at the right time...Doug(IIC)

I'm pretty much out of practice on picking stocks that I think will go down...If I was F/T I would do it...but with the limited time I have it is hard enough just to try and concentrate on a few different long setups I like.
I'll just wait in the wings for now...thx...Doug(IIC)
