Thanks, Pete! This "123 system" is about as simple as it gets. I'll definitely be adding this to my bag of tricks!

          rolling eyes ---

Good thing you corrected "hanson's" "mistake". I'm beginning to wonder how many actual humans post here. Should I divide the total number of monikers by 2,3,...?

BTW, the search instructions did not work with your "correction" either.

            --------billyjoe
You're right, it's tough to find one over 700. CTDC is the highest I've found so far, with 600, but I'm only up to the C's on my screen for low market cap, high absolute beta stocks. This does look about as risky as it gets on any major exchange:

I'm sure there would be some 700+ stocks, if the thing took .OB or .PK stocks. There probably just isn't enough information available about those for this thing to come up with a score, though.

There are definitely stocks under 100, however. PFE is an 82. MRK is 97.

As for sectors, the bond sector had a pretty good week. If your portfolio is more than 30% cash and bonds, like mine is now, it gives some balance to the ass-kicking the equity sector is taking. Too bad you can't make a POTW pick in bonds. $$CASH$$ is always a popular choice, though.

              Pete,
I am not too bright. How do I 'search within these results?' I don't see a thumbnail or any thing like that on my Google search page. Can you help a dummy?

New-born, after the first search, scroll to the bottom of the results page and look at the links directly under the text box.

If anyone is having trouble finding this document, here is what I did.

Enter this for the original search (note double quotes):

                    "Mark Crisp" Tracking Signal

The PDF document “1-2-3 Introduction” should appear at the top.

Mimo thanx for the clarification ....it does simplify what I said. Mimo if you try it, or anyone else for that matter .....let me know what you think. I do use www.stockcharts.com for the charts I use weekly and daily charts and use the 7 bars landscape setting for a larger view! These settings can easily be adjusted right below the graph !

Thanks Peter Hansen for the link to the Mark Crisp document.

                          I like simplicity.

Pete, I once dated a girl with buck teeth so bad she could eat an apple through a picket fence. I used to tell her, "Kiss me, darlin', my tonsils itch."

Also, thanks for the hints on that 1-2-3 tracking system by Mark Crisp. After reading that 24-pg. document, I'm inclined to believe there may be something to that. At the very least it gives me one more reason to like IMCL. Check this out:

Note: this is a weekly chart. And as Crisp says, "Generally, the more bars that are involved in the 1-2-3 buy or sell pattern, THE BIGGER the move." (Emphasis his.)
