I have 22 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. Register for free and you'll be able to post messages on this forum and also receive emails when $$$ MR. MARKET $$$ makes his own trades. ($$$MR. MARKET$$$ is a proprietary investor and does not provide individual financial advice. The stocks mentioned on this forum do not represent individual buy or sell recommendations and should not be viewed as such. Individual investors should consider speaking with a professional investment adviser before making any investment decisions.)

Rob: Tempted to go with MCO or EBAY, but I'll take GOOG (long) this time around; I think she may be good for around 5% this week. We'll see ...
Quasi-Ernie: NUS long.
"Google (GOOG) plans to distribute Viacom (VIA) video clips in an experiment aiming to tap into the growing popularity of online video. The plan is to sell ads to be matched up with excerpts from 'SpongeBob Squarepants,' MTV's 'Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County,' and the MTV Video Music Awards. Web site owners will then be allowed to post the material, something many already do with YouTube clips. But the Viacom content will give the Web sites something new -- a slice of ad revenue."—Harold Maass, Yahoo Finance, Mon., Aug. 7
Thank you everyone for the congratulations! And yes, I'll take VOL long again.
My Mechanical Fund had a dreadful week, -1.6%, and lost to both the POTW (-1.0%) and the winner: the POTW+ (-.3%). The points scored total 18, 20, and 20 respectively. More info in the thread about my Mechanical fund.
The new crew for the POTW: DMK, Diogenes, Gator, Geri, Rob, Gary, Spike, Jiesen*, StkyT*, and Mimo* (* = new or back on the list)

Please tell me you ain't doing away with the "current positions" link with those groovy charts?....
I'm glad you liked 'em, Lye; I did too. It just didn't seem worth the effort any more.
That reminds me: Hear ye! Hear ye! All POTW players: (1) You are now responsible for keeping up with the picks yourselves! If you enter an invalid pick, I will post a notice in this thread as soon as I discover it, and that may be the only notice you get! (Anyone else who notices an invalid pick first, feel free to chime in.) (2) I will continue to post the results for the week on Friday. As far as posting Monday through Thursday, I may not post daily updates as I have been doing. If I have the time and it's convenient I'll go ahead and put it up.
Also, welcome back, Ninner. Nice to see you in the game again after 19 consecutive weeks of absence.

Geez...I'm gonna miss all that...maybe someone else could volunteer?

Rob:
I believe that I speak for many of us when I say that we do not say enough how much we appreciate all the effort that you put into this thread.
I hope you find the time to continue the daily updates along with your comments. They are most refreshing and always welcomed.
P.S. "current positions" was also great. Will miss it.
