I forgot about that NB. I wouldn't blame you for sitting on it and taking the win anyway you can get it. Just kidding with you. Wish me luck then tomorrow.

Anytime, NBB! That's what this whole forum thing's all about, isn't it? I just hope this one turns in the direction of BRR rather than my other pinky GFCI. It definitely has the potential to do either.

Mary, your net gain so far in 4 days is 3.52%. There is nothing that "bites" about that in my book. In fact, if you could do that with regularity, which is virtually impossible, in a short time you'd be extremely wealthy.

Figuring 252 trading days in a year, if you could gain 3.52% every 4 days and compound it, that would equal a 782% annual gain. If you could do that for three years, a $10,000 initial investment would be worth $6.86 million. Of course, anyone who tries to do something like that realizes in a very short time that it can't be done.

I'll tell you what really "bites." The 2nd week I played, I picked ISRG on earnings week and ended up with a -16.55%.

Incidentally, to this day ISRG has never fully recovered ...

            Peanuts, What's Up, Dude?

Peanuts, ever since my post in the wee hours of yesterday morning, wherein I explained why you got a lower entry than you had thought for your short position on GROW, you have been uncharacteristically mum in this thread. So, are you mad at me? or what?

Skiracer would have given me the better price

No worries, dude. I'm just glad I didn't do the trade in real life.

                Nmx Ipo

It looks like $120 may be the first sale price. We'll see how it's reported later on the various info sites.

Edit: Or is it $125? I'm so confused!

                  Okay. Here's how http://www.nyse.com has it ...

                  ... so $120 it is.

Except for the part where you say "it can't be done," this post gives me hope that I won't have to be a bag lady when I'm not able to (or don't want to) work anymore. I've got 20 years to work on my portfolio, which is currently worth more than $10,000.

Week 46 (7), Final Results — Babes In Joyland

Oh, baby!!! Oh, baby!!! Like a giant boa constrictor, New-born Baby coils around our throats and strangles the life out of us!!! And ... of course ... if you spell boa backwards, you get AOB, which for New-born this week stands for Awesomely Outstandingly Bodacious!!!

And as if one Babe isn't enough at the top of the list, the silver medal this week goes to another babe ... the one who lives in a van ... down by the river!! Riverbabe boldly ventured out and took the NYMEX IPO, that opened this morning at more than twice the issue price, and stampeded us all face down into that slimy riverbank!! And check this out ... this is Riverbabe's first medal performance since she put on those chest-high waders and waded out into this torrent!! Congratulations, River!!

Less than 2/10 of a percent separates numbers 3, 4, and 5 this week, but it is the One Who Hops in Caustic Soda that thinly prevails over Speed Racer and Alice B. Toklas to nose them out for the bronze!! Nice one, Lyehopper!! Nice one!!

Among all the active players this week, the average was a very healthy gain of 2.23%, bringing the average for the fourth quarter to 0.93%! As Martha might say, this is a good thing!

Riverbabe; you had it in your hand for a while ......... and let it slip away ..... but nice silver medal.

                            Lye; solid bronze performance.

Short ERF for my next pick please.

Yup, that's what happens when you take you eye off the ball for a couple of minutes to get some "work" done! No excuses here. Just happy to be in the green. Congratulations NB and Lye!
