oh well, there's always tomorrow, and I still say we'll see 0.0002 for GMSV.

Only one day left and this contest is history. Today's standouts:
Gatorman
CMN + 3.31%
New-Born
FDG +2.11%
Jiesen
GMSV short +33.3% this won't stop until it hits 0
SYNA +1.96 adding insult to injury
It looks like a slam dunk for Jiesen especially with GMSV's news that they purchased a fleet of FIAT trucks to haul their Hazmat waste. Final numbers tomorrow and start getting your list together for next week.

well, blow me down. GMSV actually ended up 25% today. Though I suspect a little foul play here, since 17 trades at 0.0004 preceded the final $40 purchase at 0.0005 (wow, that's a lot of money to entrust with GMSV), I can take it, since that still puts me at a 55% gain for the week.
Speaking of the week, it looks like the minority rules again, as the bulls beat back the bears for the first time this year! Maybe there's something to be said for going against the masses, eh?

We have a winner in week 2 of "Portfolio of the Week"
Portfolio Open Close %loss/gain
Scifos
short CRA 12.88 13.06 -1.4%
short DAL 4.95 5.03 -1.6
short CRGN 5.84 5.85 -.2
WZEN 6.50 6.13 -5.7
TRA 8.02 7.95 -.9
Gatorman
ARLP 72.00 69.66 -3.2
CMN 22.62 23.45 +3.7
New-Born Baby
short GM 35.96 36.64 -1.9
short F 13.12 13.14 -.2
FDG 76.08 78.50 +3.2
Jiesen
short GMSV .0011 .0005 +54.5%
SYNA 36.86 36.32 -1.5
IIC
AWRE 4.89 5.95 +21.7
OPTN 17.10 17.18 +.5
ITRI 23.21 22.71 -2.2
Final Standings
1. Jiesen $12,650 GMSV one not so great little stock
2. IIC 10667 Came on strong, but ran out of time
3. New-Born 10037 A good steward of the $ given him
4. Gatorman 10025 ARLP faded at the end
5. Scifos 9804 The past champs shorts went long and longs went short
So Jiesen gambles some pennies and wins $2725. Had I put all my assets in shorting GMSV at the beginning of this week I could have retired 3 years earlier, but no I'll be digging latrines for 8 more years. Don't feel bad for me I occasionally get to take a break and shovel snow for relaxation. Now we need 4 challengers to take on Jiesen. Can he become the first to ever defend his title?

Foul!!! Foul!!!! I Protest!!!!!!!
BillyJoe,
I play this game under protest! You cannot short shares under $5 on Scottrade, and with the new shorting rules, I dare say that not one single broker on earth would allow anyone to short that crummy, cheap, penny stock!
[If anyone thinks I actually care--think again. I am just practicing complaining].
Remember when Geo. Brett smacked a game winning homer vs. the Yanks, and as he crossed home plate, Billy Martin went out to the umpires and complained that the pine tar was too high on the bat, making the bat illegal, and voiding the home run? He won his protest. And I want to win mine!

I protest Jiesen and New-Born. Jiesen, I don't know where you got that quote.Look at the time of my post and the time of your "quote billyjoe post" and read the figures again. New-Born, give me any trouble and I'll take away my "good steward" quote and anyway what's Scottrade got to do with anything? You are a man of the cloth. Why can't we all just get along?

case in point, more shares typically traded in a single trade of GMSV than were currently outstanding (or they did when it was possible to know how many shares were issued and outstanding- this was before the name change to GMSV).
oh yeah, and how dare you tarnish the good name of penny stocks everywhere by calling GMSV one. micropenny, or perhaps even nanopenny would be a more appropriate term.Last edited by jiesen; 01-28-2005, 06:57 PM.
