    Reminder

BTW, as a reminder, I'm leaving shortly and will be unable to post the POTW daily results until later tonight or tomorrow.

No OTCBB stocks.... No stocks under $10.... Average Volume must be above 50k shares per day.

That's not what I had in mind...I was thinking something like you get $100,000 paper account...Trade it as you wish for a month with a min. buy of 10 grand...min hold 1 hour...$10 commish per trade...But the more I think about it there would be a lot of scorekeeping...too much in fact.

BTW...I met some guys at this little Expo I went to on 4/1...they run a free weekly contest and starting last week they give $1,000 to each week's winner...I signed up but I have not participated yet...I was looking at their previous contests and it appears that some people are just sitting there posting trades all day...I'll post the site tonight when I get home...Doug(IIC)

For that reason I am not willing to join the $100-ante pick of the month, but I'd be willing to keep the score, with say a minimum of two updates per week, if it's agreed that the winner forks over a mere 10% of the pot to me.
Great idea Rob!.... I'm game for that too....

          Week 16 (3), Day 3

Wow! 17 players this week so far are in the 2%+ club! Although a couple of shorts are in the black, generally speaking it's not a good week to be a bear (Lyehopper), even though a few things like oil prices suggest otherwise. I guess the prevailing belief that the Fed is about to finish stepping up the interest rate is taking the upper hand.

But as we all know the week ain't over till it's over. For all we know the market could turn on a dime and tumble hundreds of points in the blink of an eye. But let's just ignore this possibility and open that throttle a little wider, whadaya say?

The reason TFSM got whacked at the open was a downgrade...I think it recovers from that...IIC

                  Doug,
You seem to have a real knack for picking stocks that gap up on news. How often are you able to cash in before the word gets out ? Thanks.

                    Trade

I'm going to Sell IMCL and Buy GOOG.

In real life I'm holding both.

Not very often...but sometimes I try to beat the news...like today I was watching all the AMEX Natural gas stocks in R/T...you could tell supplies were up before it came across the wires

I'm taking a big risk here, but I'm hanging onto GOOG.

                              Breathing A Little Easier

GOOG: "Net income for the first quarter rose to $592 million, or $1.95 per diluted share, compared with the year-earlier quarter's $372 million, or $1.29 per diluted share. Revenue rose 79 percent to $2.25 billion -- compared with Wall Street forecasts for 63 percent to 78 percent growth."

Okay, I'm breathing a little easier now.
