I have 22 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. Man! What a crummy way to start the quarter! Unless your name happens to be Peter Hansen, StkyTreat, BillyJoe, The Photon, or Eliaskane.
Only because of the rules of this contest! I am up 4.4% since the close last Friday, but the Monday open was over 6% higher, so I am down in the contest! Crazy is the word.

Karel, Would you rather have 1st place in the POTW or the cash in your account from the actual gains?

No argument there, ski, I vote for my money, not for the contest. But while I am competing here, I prefer to act as if I care! (Laid back as my POTW strategy is.)

Karel, I understand what you're saying. Several things need to be kept in mind:
This is primarily a weekly contest, hence its name
Although the change from Friday's close to Monday's open worked against you in this instance, sometimes it will work in your favor as well
Each participant is equally advantaged or disadvantaged by the rules as they are, thus levelling the playing field
It's a fun way to sharpen one's trading skills, "fun" being the operative word here
Ray,
I was surprised to see TASR rated so highly. I think it was on barcharts.
For those of you who don't know, Ray made a 37.3% gain with TASR in the March Madness Tournament in 13 days, March- April '04.
I got this pick after researching some Tobin Smith spam. He sent an
article on White Light LED's, I did a search, and became interested in this
relatively new science. From there I found CLRK and I have been watching it off and on since 8/11/2006 when Smith sent the email.

Very interesting chart. Where is the company going? Why did you choose CLRK over any other sector stocks?

I am not sure I understand your question about where they are going.
And as far as sectors, I was just looking for an issue that looked ripe
for a rise in price, in this sloppy market. Plus CLRK just cut a deal with
Siemens subsidiary Osram Sylvania which is the reason for the rise today.
Do your own DD on the company. The technology is extremely energy efficient.
Why is everyone so optimistic, even New-born ? Let's start shorting more and most of us will be happy.

"Even Newborn" lol lol
Yeah, I admit it. I like to live on the short side of the fence. Sounds real bad, doesn't it? But remember, Jessie Livermore lived on this side of the fence
